Occasionally there's a GM event type thing, though I've never actually seen anything in-game related to any holiday, ever. So, no.

No, and last time we had a GM event they treated the GM like crap... so don't hold your breath.

There was a Halloween event in 2015 that was fairly extensive but most people were unhappy with it because of high expectations for awesome rewards...

The Halloween event was a great concept but terribly executed. Hopefully the staff will keep going with them but maybe, you know... not randomly port people to Kerra isle and then stop the event after 6 hours.. couple that with an admitted error in flagging rewards makes for some grumpy nerds.

There's been GM events (http://wiki.project1999.com/Players:GM_Events) in the past during holiday seasons, Christmas included.

I believe I read there's one planned this Christmas but hard to say to what extent it would be like, if at all

The last thing you should expect from any GM event is a great item.
