Do any of you stand behind your rants?
http://petition.uber.org/austin/
A nation where even a free market business that threatens revenue from ticketing drivers to public transportation is under attack by the government across our nation.
Just you wait, in 5 years they will be passing laws that say there cannot be automated driverless cars with no people inside them, delivering a crushing blow to progress and security for everyone in this great nation.
DO NOT let the denizens of fear keep you distracted from the real oppression, the non progressive american government.
Support Bernie Sanders or die in a fire of your own making.

Uber/google are the major forces in automated driving, and removing the need for car ownership at some of of the worlds most densely populated places. And in the long run, everywhere.
The use of uber has reduced drunk driving arrests by 80% in austin and that has cut deeply into the pockets of the city's revenue generators.
So cities all over are trying to stop the progress before there are no drivers on the raod, no registration to collect on, no tickets to right, no parking and traffic departments to employ.
Google Uber has found that the average american spends $9,000.00 a year on car ownerhsip, they want to reduce the cost by having driverless uber cars to only be pennies a mile!

Uber is a stand up company. They apply the highest level of morals to their operations and hold their management accountable. They promote a healthy competition and strive to protect the personal information of all they serve.

I have serious concerns about ethical programming in driver-less cars.
Uber is a pretty great idea though.

And what is the ethical programming in driver-less cars? Has there been any talk yet about what is currently in the cars being tested right now? I've seen discussions about scenarios where the car would have to make a snap decision about whether to hit a crowd of people or veer off into a wall. Essentially choosing whether people outside or inside the car are the ones to risk dying. I'd like to hear how the companies that are making these cars are approaching this.
That said, I really feel that driver-less cars are 100% the way to go.

Interesting timing of this thread. Going to be doing a little driving for uber in the big city, as I don't have time to commit to an internship for the rest of my Graduate studies.
I have ADD and can't balance tasks too gud because I like to space out for a long time after concentrating hard for a couple hours.
So a drug addicted dindu I met on the sidewalk recommended I try uber to generate some cash flow as I have a really nice luxury limo car.
Excited for a front row seat, helping the throat slicing pals at Uber usher in the extinction of cars and car regulation revenue in the city.

Excellent addition to the conversation. Your points seem rational and compelling.

what u mean by ethical programming, like the car deciding if it should kill the person in it or the one full of kids its about to hit?
even tho the one in it is a nobel peace prize winning child doctor that does 100% pro bono work and the car full of kids is just full of white trash stupid idiot parent kids?
Yea thats tough, but im fine with whatever smarter men than us will come up with.
