So Im about to hit 54 and want to try bear pits.

I know everyone suggests CoM but its very chaotic at times and it costs me 20pp every time I go up (shrink pot/wing). Not to mention filling up my bags with those things. Plus this is my 2nd toon and my first toon is a raider so I randomly have to ditch everything im doing and camp to engage a raid mob. Which just ends horribly in CoM usually.

But Ive been to bear pits before on Red server with my SK and generally like it. But Im now a sham and would love some advice one what to pull first? when to pull? how many dots do each need to die? How many to keep rooted at a time?

Do I use the same strat as CoM? Root/Malisment/epic dot? Can a 54 do well down there without the 56 root?

Someone with sham exp soloing down there would be super helpful!

Thank you

It's the same as com, but with slightly higher level mobs. That means more resists and shorter roots.

Start with 2 mobs at first and work up from there. It gets much easier at 56 with the longer duration root and a new dot.

So what is the casting setup? Malisment/Root/Epic/Poison Dot - repeat?

Pretty much. Assuming you start with a 2 pull, root from max range, switch targets and fire off root/malo, switch back to first and malo that as well.

Use whatever dots you have mana for.

I never use anything but epic damage for exp grinding. Root/Malisement/Regrowth only other spells cast really.

Here's a thread about how to do bear pits:

If you're using malisement you're probably fighting mobs that are too high in level. Leveling up I never had a problem with resists without casting that spell. I found the bears had a lot of hp for their level and were only good for a level or two from 56-58ish before they started to turn green. HS ent is good and com too, plus perma kind of a crappy location unless you're a druid

I'd bring some mace to ward off all the snarling wolves. Well it's indoors but w/e.

I recomend you do LDCs in solB and the Captain spawn in KC or anything in KC really, captain is nice cus u can monopolize all those spawns if ayone tries to take one from you, its gotta path through 1 spot taht you root rot at and WHAM you can take it back.

But bears have lots of hps so yea.

SOLB IS THE SHAMANS cave.. why u think all htose kolbolds are shamans?

you can stay at LDC till like 57 then move over to freeti trash to 60..

then kill the gaints in the castle and take your seat upon the throne of the shamans right of passage, where you will become the one true shaman, king of the lair, lord of the cave.

now THATS how you shaman.

want to up your shaman game? buy about 5 or so goblin nets.

start with a root, click click click.. malo root malo root malo root.

ROOM BROKEN!

when you are done for the night, gate back to your merchant of choice, recharge nets.

LORD OF THE ONE TRUE SHAMANS!

Malisement is just for higher level blues to make sure root lasts full duration and you can time epic clicks better. Wasn't needed until they messed with root durations a few patches ago.
