Who all is going to play there?
2 boxing, instanced raids, and a fresh even start against everyone else has me hooked.
I started playing on Lockjaw a couple weeks ago and i have to say its been fun. All the people i have run across so far have been friendly and helpful. The game isn't exactly what i remember from live or on p99 but its close and has a lot of changes that make it more enjoyable and less of a time sink.
Live now has porters and boats so if you want to ride a boat you can, if not, port to the other dock. So much nicer than waiting an hour round trip for the boat here on p99.
Group XP bonuses make it so its worth grouping even with a weird group makeup. Not hard to find a group for the most part so far. The xp zones are a little different than p99 but the levels fly by in a good group.
Little differences like chanter short duration mezzes being able to be overwritten by long duration make those shitty pulls more manageable.
New system for spell research and i hate it so far.
I think the only things from the store that work on TLP are things like xp pots but im not sure.
Bot crews seem to exist on Lockjaw but i cant say i have had a bad run in with one yet so i dont know if its really that much of an issue or not.
Hope to see some of you guys there. I will be there as Bethe, Gingyr, Cohmebaby, Shinbane, Milkncookies etc.
the 2 boxing though requires 2 individual computers and 2 separate account subscriptions right?

Yes, 1 client per pc is my understanding. On live i used to box a cleric/warrior combo with the two pc's in different rooms. I would literally get up and run to the cleric box for a CH. as long as the group knew and understood to not pull aggro too fast it all worked out great. Eventually i got the pc's nearer to each other lol.

I did that on live back in the day. 2 separate computers & monitors, one big desk, and 2 sets of keyboards and mice.
Mage + Chanter combo and Warrior + Cleric combo. Was really fun.

Instances killed this for me, oh and also the inevitability of it going past PoP/LoY/GoD. No bueno.

the premium all access server is due to open Wednesday Dec 9, 2015 @ 2pm pst / 5pm est / 10pm gmt.
As with the other two new servers (practise to confirm that that 3rd and 4th try they could go back to an orig eq game) population will be heavy for the first month or two, character select access que (sometimes) took TWO hours, and we waited in the old eq chat room... No chat devs were there, and the *urds often spamed chat (mouse click their name in the lower right name panel and select ignore to block their spam and again be able to have legit dialogue.)
After Rage server opened the PAYING subscribers pleaded with dbg (DayBreakGames--Columbus Nova) to open another server as so many tried to get in, one was literally a few THOUSAND down in que for a entry slot! Instead dbg did everything they could EXCEPT open another server... cap server pop, force que for access, kick afk people (a month later) that after finally getting in -- leaving that char afk untill they decided they had time to actually play the game.
After a few months those too cheap to buy longer subscription.. there was no wait to get into the server.
Starter zones the first week will have 100+ lvl 1-5 ksin (KillStealing) each other.
In the patcher/options one can disable new character models and go back to the old orig eq (99.03.16) char models (256b models was not till Luclin the 3rd expansion [01.12.04].) They did however have shared bank slots (Ykesha 5th expansion [03.02.25], but no frog chars, and beastlord is not till Luclin.)

I could see playing on a server that went to PoP but stopped there. That's where I got into the game and never really cared for any of the following expansions.
I do miss the books now and then.

I would be ok with going to Luclin and not beyond; but only if they got rid of the nexus scions.

The classic art on P99 is appreciated. I wouldn't go so far as to say P99 actually replicates a classic experience though, rather just a recreation of classic mechanics. For me, a classic experience isn't possible to recreate. Instead I'm just looking for enjoyable classic content. I like some of what the new progression server offers, so I'll be trying it. I don't plan to play much past PoP, but that should last me 18 months at least and then there will be something new to try anyways.
Ill be trying this out. I doubt I'll stay for long but I talked my brother into making a character with me so we'll see what happens.
I am making a ranger and he wants to do a wizard. not exactly an ideal duo setup but whatever, we'll make it work.

I initially hated the idea of starting over, but I might make a char and see how it goes.
Can maybe play that while "raiding" here on P99 - IE sitting camped out in ToV for hours playing some other game waiting for someone to scream in vent POP POP POP POP

If I wanted to play a modern MMO I'd be on WoW. I'm on p99 for few very specific reasons, and convenience, experience bonuses, and bots are not among them :)

lol, I did the exact same thing. Then I bought a 40 foot extension for the keyboard the cleric was attached to.

Sounds terrible and disgusting.
An insult to the things which make EQ great.

low timesink, instances, cash shop, etc = EQ Lite
Also I wonder with the older progression servers if everyone will just jump ship after GoD or whatever...embarrassing if they shut down or merge a server because nobody is playing after that many expansions :o

Why do instances make it worse? I remember in <Lost in Progression> on Trakanon server, we had a guy troll us by killing our desired classic/Kunark/Velious/Luclin/PoP targets with his level 100 mage. It would have been cool if we could just raid whatever we wanted in an instanced zone without worrying about whether others would kill it first. Curious to hear what the drawback is.

I was watching a few people on stream. One guy has potions of clarity for his casters and melee have some other potion I could not see. It just makes me feel that much better about not playing there. You can also get 25% exp potions. Wheres the challenge of leveling anymore.
