View Full Version : Going LD immediately after melee combat

Hi All,

Since Saturday morning (1 am EST), P99 had become unplayable for me due to persistent and repeatable linkdeaths. I have gone LD about 20 times, and the easiest way for me to recreate a scenario is to attack a mob. I can open the attack with a spell, but as soon as the mob reached me and I have auto attack on, my client will freeze permanently and become unresponsive as the first melee attack is delivered. Sometimes I can see the damage on the first hit in my frozen chat window, sometimes i don't even get the message in the window when it freezes. I have been able to trigger my OT hammer (off the first hit) and have the port work twice, but if it doesn't trigger, then I go LD. I have not completed a single fight without going LD since Friday, late afternoon. The LDs have now spanned three days and the game is unplayable.

In the year or so I've been playing I can't even remember going LD except while zoning occasionally. My internet appears to be stable otherwise (skype, vent, video streaming is uninterrupted and exhibits no lag). I have restarted both my machine and the router several times. I have windows 7 and have made no changes to my machine (I literally only run P99, skype, vent and Chrome on it these days).

If anyone has had any of these issues and has a solution, I would be ever so grateful.

Thanks,
Cordwainer

I am having that same issue! has your problem been fixed? I have played 1999 for about 2 weeks problem free then all of a sudden I freeze up every time I engage a mob. Doesn't matter if its a DD, DoT, or auto attack. If I don't attack anything , I can stay in game just fine with no freeze/crash.

Please help!

I would check the log file immediately after it happens.

./Logs/dbg.txt

Though please don't paste the entire thing into a forum reply, if you want us to look at it. Pastebin links are better for stuff like that.

Have you resized your combat or any window at all? I've received reports of characters going LD upon combat due to their combat windows being too small.

I kept LDing upon auto-attack because my melee window was too small indeed, thanks for the tip.
