Can someone text / call him? Dude hasn't moved for an hour. He doesn't seem to be coping with the ban very well.

Since I'm ousted, might as well spill the beans from what I learned from his followers while he was asleep. He was almost banned from p99 (but wasn't) for allowing Greengrocer to speak about staff corruption on his stream. Think what you will about this: GG was going around implicating RMT on the server which, while real, resulted in staff oustings and alienation, and could nonetheless threaten the legality of both servers. Reason enough to be warned, maybe not banned.

He was banned for RMT with a certain female p99 streamer.

Oh, and also plat awarded for twitch followers. Fine line. Add all of the things above together and make your own decision whether or not this fellow should be allowed to play p99.

Quad post - back to hibernation

quoting for immortality. when it comes down to it, nothing positive came out of the GG shit and they both only hurt the box & community by doing this. fuck em. staff would have been more than justified to ban both of them for that alone.

That would be just my luck for the project to get shut down right before Discord and/or teams.

I still maintain that Daybreak is pretty clueless for not realizing how much P99 would be worth if licensed for live servers. Let them keep their free servers and cut them in on commercial servers running P99 code. They're leaving money on the table.

Im a progressive when it comes to "problem people" and I struggle understanding why Moregan was handled in a way that scorned him so badly?

Its like they hyped him and gassed him up (giving into requests for more responsibility and access, being a "pushover", chatting it up with him all these months, leading him along) and then kneejerk car-accidenting the entire situation.

Does this not seem more fucked up? Maybe its just me. LOOK I realize they thought Moregan was someone he wasn't, but he is still pretty normal from listening to him speak and dealing with him in-game.

He should have been handled with kid gloves and let down easy, Braknar says he tried, but 1 guy isn't enough Brak. You needed a concentrated effort to let him down easier over time imo, to save the server from this unnecessary unpleasantness.

Just saying, and I will state again as a disclaimer, I'm of the progressive viewpoint that everyone can be controlled if given proper handling. Some may label me naive, willfully ignorant, childishly idealistic, and possibly unrealistic for this view.

That said, I respect Braknar's decisions.

Problem is one side is incentivized to give their version of events, and the other side has equal reason to keep their version a secret. You're never going to get a true picture from one side of the story.

not sure wtf youre talking about in general.

what do you mean by progreessive? i know the elections are near but what?

he roleplayed a lot and that was fun and funny, but he was in a position of power in the volunteer crew. and from what i understand, he was akin to poking fun at his superiors

at least thats what he says "poking fun" "giving them a hard time" etc... well as a boss that may translate to compromising authority completely and plenty enough reason to fire

there's no "proper handling" when someone, by personality, threatens the authority of the status quo. you may read this as draconian, but you may also have a job, so relate it to yourself

Right. There's no way to know, and even a moderate opinion on the situation such as the one that I have taken, involves degrees of speculation. And possibly idealistic by those in-the-know.

The optics is what I went by, and I am left feeling that Moregan needed more care in his handling, as it seems plausible now that Moregan was blindsided despite Braknar admitting they were trying to move Moregan off staff since July.

That is a lot of months and stringing, for no damage control results.

That is all I was getting at here.

This is also a highly plausible version of events, and as was insinuated by Braknar himself without revealing too much, that in fact, Moregan may have been too psycho for this to end any other way.

Why would you want to be a guide here if you're truly in it for the right reasons?

You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

Magikarp

psycho isnt a good word. moregan was fun and fine as an individual. its just that guiding this project, while not a real job, requires some serious disconnection from the hobbyist playerbase

not to mention some of the guides with actual priviledges shit the fuckin bed and tried to make money of it

recall moregan talkin way too much about how he was "neutered" of any priviledges except changing people's surnames.. and his whole guild of fun or whatever. im sure none of that was vetted. he just talked a lot. not condusive to good customer service, and yea you're not customers i know that, but its treated the same way

personally i think GG was actually one of the better guides we've had. i liked him as a guide. but his actions after being removed show that he was a loose cannon and i think the staff made the right decision removing him.

Problem is one side is incentivized to give their version of events, and the other side has equal reason to keep their version a secret. You're never going to get a true picture from one side of the story.

this too. without divulging too much, i know a bit more to the story than gg and sirken do, and there are definitely inaccuracies in the censored chatlogs. i can promise that.
