As of today, this quest is giving no discernible experience at level 30. There was another complaint about the same thing from last month in the thread about the quest in the "Resolved Issues" forum.

Also, the vendor is missing from the second floor of the bridge house of the bridge to South Karanas

That vendor, to my knowledge, is a random spawn. Much like the gnome there.

Could be wrong, but I was curious of the same thing and looked it up on Alla. Could be mis-remembering.

It was in the last patch notes that this quest gave less exp

I see that in the patch notes from 10/30.

The turn in didn't move the blue experience line even a single pixel for a level 30 wood elf druid. It should be giving much more exp -- this should be clear from the posts in the "Resolved Issues" thread as well as comments on various allakhazam pages (corrupt guards, the item, and the quest pages).

A quote I read yesterday that reflects my memory is "this is one of the few quests that gave noticeable exp even at higher levels." I believe I should be getting more exp per turn in than I get for killing "Guard Donlan" to get the bracers. Even people killing the higher level "Guard McCluskey" for his bracers get noticeable exp for doing the bracer turn in and he is mid or high 30s I believe, so many people killing him are 40+.

Maybe a someone could tell me why the amount of experience given was reduced in the 10/30 patch? I didn't see an explanation for this.

Higher level people could kill the guards, let low levels loot the bracers, they turn them in and level by leaps and bounds. So yeah, it got cut down because of that.

But I'm pretty sure that's not classic? Why change this of all things? The game is "unfair" in a million ways, why fix this one?

Just as a note, I don't want to do this quest to PL someone, I want to do it to normally level myself.

How's that different from a high level slaughtering Crushbone/Blackburrow and letting the low level have all the belts/fangs?

I'd love a dev with the official word on the reason for the change, and if this is intentionally not classic. Uthgaard signed off on the change in the patch notes, so maybe he could comment?

I really did put a lot of effort into collecting bracers expecting a "classic" result, so I'd appreciate some info about whether this is the final intended state of things and why this particular thing is allowed to be non-classic when it's not a bug or exploit.

It started off giving next to none. I increased it, people said it was too much. I decreased it, people said it was too little. I'm tired of changing it, and Kunark is more important.

Thanks for responding. I wouldn't care except for the 20 bracers in my bank. I'm not worried about the exact amount, just that it in general show a significant reward even in the 30s, as it did on classic. I think it likely that whoever said it gave too much never did the quest on classic at a level when the guards were still exp-giving. At minimum it was a quarter of a blue at mid-30s, and I believe it was more like a third of a blue at late 30s.

If you have time to adjust it, I'd appreciate it. I know there are a lot of people waiting for Kunark, but I still want to enjoy the original game until I reach level 50 and this is part of that.
