My new hot tub is getting installed today bitches!

And what takes the cake is my kids are paying for it. They wanted another one (pulled out old one several years back) & thus "conspired" to use their allowance money to make payments for it.

I'll be relaxing in a Marquis Euphoria w/ a glass of bourbon in about 6 hours.

woot woot woot

Oasis ruined due to some fairly mediocre bourbon.

Nice!

We've been contemplating putting in a pool, but we also want a hot tub - may go in the middle and build a good sized in ground spa. In the summer I wont heat it and its a pool I can cool off in - but still have enough room to splash around in, but in the wintertime i can heat it and enjoy a "hot tub". I just dont want to clean the damn thing, and not excited about hiring some random_dude01, and them popping by at random times to clean it.

First world problems I guess.

It's tough, I always had a pool growing up and we had a blast... lots of good memories.

Then when we got older and stopped using it, and my dad made me take care of it... holy shit. Pools can be so high maintenance. Had to constantly brush algae out of that motherfucker, scoop out huge clumps of leaves, and basically perform a meth cook's worth of chemistry to keep it from getting even more fucked up.

Me personally, I wouldn't get one unless I really liked to swim and my little shits expressed a fanatical interest in swimming.

I've heard salt water pools are way easier to maintain than chlorine? Any truth in that?

Not in my experience, but it's possible. Salt water pools aren't the absence of chlorination, just a different approach to chlorinating the water. My parents' last pool was saltwater, but by then I had gone off to college and wasn't maintaining it, and they were paying somebody to do it. From what I hear it suffered way less problems with algae and the chemistry was easier, but it was still a decent amount of maintenance. It still needs to be brushed, skimmed, and have its chemistry managed either by you or a pool guy. Every pool is different, and I think the problems you run into with algae/chemistry depend on a lot of things including how much sun/shade your pool gets, the type of lining/material, the plants you have nearby etc.

Some bourbon better than no bourbon....

Get a pool guy. Mine each week cleans, chems, everything all for about 115 per month.

Worth every penny.
