When will we be getting this on Project1999? The Siren Grotto we have now lasted less than 3 months on Live.
Patch note from Feb 02 2001:
Update: We also made several changes to Siren's Grotto to address player concerns with the difficulty of the zone.
Some comments from Allakhazam and other from after the patch:
Siren's Grotto has recently been changed so that single groups can get good experience here; a lot of the unneccesary dangers have been reduced, and the magic and other resistances of the creatures have been lowered.
Biggest change was making it easier to Mez mobs, lowering damage from mobs (right now some trash hits for over 300), and one of the big changes was removing the 500dmg/Dispel AE from Ice Servants.

I think the problem is that SG was again revamped in June 2001 and it's hard to find definitive proof of what the zone was like between the current timeline and then.
The one thing I could find is that the seahorses are hitting too hard.
Hoping they leave this zone alone, its pretty much the only challenging one group content left in p99.

There's plenty of challenge. People just don't see the reward in a lot of it.
Like 1-grouping PoHate 2nd floor or PoGrowth. Or 1-2 grouping Halls of Testing. Or 1-grouping Armors/Guardians of Zek. Or many epic fights.
SG is sort of a meh zone. I just wish there were a way to recover the faction in there so that I could actually hunt there and then fix it to alliance neck my way across.

It's challenging, but that makes it pretty dead as a zone. Now that DN is fixed, that's where most will go to farm BP gems.
Ice Servants' DS and trash being super resistant to Mez mean you need a cleric for MoK and a monk to pull if you want to do anything as a single group. Not to mention the 500 dmg AE and trash hits for 250+
Obviously Verant saw it the same way which is why the original version lasted 2 months only.

i agree, leave SG the way it is. Inflated itemization and over leveled characters make this game trivial in almost every case. God forbid you can't duo an entire zone. Got to build a well balanced group ? Might as well not even log in

Yeah, everyone loves Siren's so much that the zone's almost always empty, just like Chardok when there's no AE group there.
Classic is classic, and current Siren's wasn't classic past the first few months.

I would change this to say challenging trio content. I've been in several full groups and every time we've steamrolled it. This zone has some really cool mechanics, and I'm pretty sure I can keep the temple area down with a trio. Svenn and I wiped after he succumbed to the feminine wiles of a siren enticer, though :mad:
Also I really don't think the Sirens have enhanced MR. I was able to consistently land pretty much the entire enchanter arsenal of slows, mezzes, stuns, charms, etc. Many of these targets are 53+ and buffed with Shielding and Resist Magic; you can't expect to land everything without dispelling them.

If anyone wants to help research, I need more details with sources please. If there was a revamp again in June 2001, I think that is the only version we should worry about getting implemented.

Hopefully SG will remain in hard mode forever or at least until recycle99 or whatever.
Last thing we need is easier content and more twink loot flowing into the world.

First off, just cuz mobs hit hard don't mean they high lvl... servents by ww zone shoulda helped you guys figure that out.
Siren Seductresses in SG are lvl 48 to 50 and they can hit for 139s to 143s depending on level.
The siren seductresses often cast a fear stun (18 sec approx)
All seductresses can drop breastplate / robe gems.

walrus skin drum no stats, just a good bard drum

First off, you dont mess with icy servants without everyone in your group having 150+ cold resist or having multiple slaughter groups.
There are two different icy servants... most are level 51ish? The two that guard the shimmering sea serpent pool at the siren temple are lvl 54 / 55.
AE every 15 seconds or so, 500dmg with dispel (vox clone)... Doesn't really affect you if you have a crew that can resist or put the mob down very fast (5+ melee and a wizard or two)
They all hit pretty hard, approx 157s to 170s? /shrug I haven't messed with these guys too much. They drop the same stuff the seahorses drop, no kelp.

The walruses, manatees drop absolutely nothing and are better left alone. The Enthralled Bulthors, Moltors and Ulthorks drop 3+ gems everytime. Random chance to get very rare velious quest gem. Ive had Crushed Black marble and Crushed Flame emerald drop off one moltor before. Common gems are onyx, pearls, crushed nephrite, crushed chrisolite, and flawed emerald (velious quest gem). All other gems are random drops. They also drop Netted Kelp armor which is fairly good twink armor and great +int and +SV fire for the higher levels. Although having your CHA over 200 is a plus for all you chanters who wear this since it gives - in CHA. it gives +4 or higher stamina also depending on which piece. The Icy servants should really not be messed with unless you are on a guild raid with 2+ grps. It took them around 10 seconds to kick my 54 warriors ass with 1000 ac and 2500 hp unbuffed. but that was with 3 other icys and around 8 siren enticers. the icys hit me for max of 110 but extremely fast and that triple 500 AE every second or so from all 3 was hell. also the nukes from the sirens hurt. Dont expect to pull any of these Icy servants unless your expecting to get 8+ MoBs with it.
The horses are nice pulling if you have the melee power for them. Me and a 60 warrior did them and it took 5 mins per horse. although we I had 4200 hp buffed and she had 5010 and 1400 ac. they give good xp and the rare drop of that 20 ac cloak is worth it. I hope this clears stuff up on SG and it is a really great zone to hunt in with a grp.

Neriad shawl dropped randomly from a Neriad Mermaid, not sure if Mistresses drop them. Mistresses drop gems up to Blue diamonds and diamonds. And up to 4 pieces of cash loot at once. Mistress hit me for over 290 quad at times very fast. Maidens i can solo easily.

Every seahorse in SG (using a 200 tracking skill) conned even at lev 53. Straight melee mobs, hard hitters, a lot of hit points, no surprises.
They can't be rooted or snared ("cannot change the run speed" message), and will try and run when badly hurt, but move at a crawl. Whether this is because of the water or a recent patch change I'm not sure.
Moderately strong against magic, fairly strong against fire. They can be mezzed and slowed, but it can take awhile due to resistances.

Seems like this is a Cleric mob. Did a wrath of god on me for 600+ damage, hit for 120 to 270 damage AFTER being slowed by the enchanter. NOT an easy kill took our group 3x tried to pull and sucessfully kill her. The warrior have almost 4500 Htps (with Aegolism) with 1300 AC. We have to Complete Heal him 5x and Lvl 60 druid's heal 7x with several other heal over time so as not aggro the mob. I found her spawn in the SG zone in the tower. This is the first time I seen her on track and she is YELLOW to me at 60. She drop a Blue Diamond, a no-drop earing AC 2, Stam 9, Wis 2, Int 2, tiny, All All NO DROP, LORE - Siren Hair Earing, and a sapphire necklace worth about 166pp. Good luck to all who venture into SG.

I'm a level 51 shaman and I saw this guy next to cobalt scar zone, and he conned blue hit's in the 130's. but don't know about hp i had to run to many hits before I could get him. invise went.

The well isn't bad if you pull it from the bottom. Invis down, go to
the 4-way and pull the upper rooms to there intially. I always thought
SG was one of the coolest zones for a dungeon crawl. Pick a corridor
at random and see where you end up <g>. Pretty much light blue at 53
though, one of those zones I miss not being able to exp in any more.

I'm not sure on this but mobs of the same level have different DI depending on the expansion? So if we could dial in the levels of these revamped mobs we could compare it to other velious mobs of the same level range. Just brain storming since this patch is long overdue but the info is so bare.

Almost no one ever hunts there which makes it impossible to aqquire runed sea shell cloud for Ring. Which Makes ring 9 unfinishable which makes peoples banks too full of items... so I'm told.

Bump. Would be nice if the trash in this zone didn't hit for near 300. Should've been fixed a long time ago.
