Hey everyone.
We're a small group of players formed around an indepedenent, old-school MMORPG in development by the same name; you might have heard about us over at mmorpg.com or on Theory Forge, WASD Radio, and a few other places.
Recently, some of our developers and existing community members decided to come over to Project 1999 and play around in our spare time since we've still got a couple of years until our game launches, and there's nothing else on the market that we want to play. And, since we're building an old-school MMORPG, what better place to hang out than in one of the places from where we draw inspiration?
We currently have a morning static group that meets Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays from 7 - 11 EST, and another evening crew who meets up Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights around 8 - 9 EST.
In between, we've got a few others who play randomly, and after some internal discussions, we decided we would open the doors to recruit and build some more static groups to fill in the gaps. Right now, we're fielding around 12-15 players on a weekly basis, and growing slowly.
This isn't a raid guild, and we have zero desires or plans to raid here on Project 1999. Instead, we're all about socialization, community, crafting, questing, dungeon runs, and general revelry.
While some of us have some mid-30s characters, we're all basically starting from scratch to re-explore the game from the ground floor up. We've got a few EQ virgins in our midsts, and we're showing them what the original EverQuest was all about back in the day; as such, the bulk of our groups right now are in the 10-15 range, with a new couple who just started in GFay who are under level 5 and working their way up.
That being said, we're open to anyone and everyone who wants to join along for the ride, and we welcome new players or old. If you enjoy socialization and community gaming, this is probably a place where you could be comfortable calling home.
You can look us up online at any time.

Morning crew is busy in Befallen, while the night crew has taken up residence in Najena. Beyond that, we've got some others out in Gfay getting their start. Look us up!

Looking for more, as always :)
We've had a few new players join the ranks (new to the server, also!) and have a steadily growing band in the under level 20 bracket, with several static groups going now and room for more!
Look us up in-game if you play EST mornings or evenings (have groups in both brackets)

Look us up in-game for an invite :) We have Mon/Wed/Fri morning static groups, and Wed/Thurs/Fri night groups, and people randomly throughout the day in EST and UK time.
Most have officer rights to invite, so just find someone next time you are on :)

Yep, we've got a couple of dark elves in the lowbie area as well!
Look us up. Primarily folks are on Mon/Wed/Fri mornings, Wed/Thurs/Fri evenings on EST, but also randomly throughout the day and evening :)

Hey Lorelei: Ren just assumes everyone know the game backwards and forwards. Naturally such assumptions are usually wrong :D. Easiest way to find people is to use your chat and type : /who all saga That will give you every person in the guild who is online at that time ( you might have to try it every hour or so just in case people log on at a later time ). Good luck and, hopefully, welcome aboard.

I definitely don't know everything! I am new the game and it took me an hour just to find my way outside and start killing spiders. *blush* (I hope the mods approve my introduction thread soon so I don't have to type that all out again and just link it .)

We'll be around; just do a /who all saga and you'll get a list of us. We've got toons all over who can get you an invite, and then we can get you sorted out with a group and some training wheels :)

What is the best time to start grouping? When may I get an invite to the guild? Do I have to prove myself by reaching a certain point before I get one?

Nope. You literally just need to hit us up when you see us online and we'll get you an invite and you can start finding a spot within one of the groups.
We have several groups going from the pre-teens, into the mid-/late teens.
Just do a /who all saga when you are online and send someone a tell and we'll get you sorted out :)

Tonight is one of our static groups and I'll be online either as Halethon or Elderith; others are around Mon/Wed/Fri mornings, and also on Sat/Sun/Mon/Tues, although those days we don't have set play times but just when any of us are free.
Best times to find us are Mon/Wed/Fri mornings 7 - 11 EST, and Wed/Thurs/Fri evenings EST 7 - 11.
However, there are multiple groups going so you just have to look when you are online to see if someone is on!

Ah, that's too bad. I am at usually either at work or sleeping during those times. :( Usually play games in the afternoon till about 6pm or 7pm. Getting lonely and bored soloing in Nektulos. Too bad this great game isn't more popular.

I know we've got three folks from the UK (husband, wife, friend) who play in the EST afternoons, and will be starting regular sessions next week...they have a paladin, bard, and cleric who would probably love an enchanter to join their cause :)
Keep us posted on what you end up deciding!

Look up Asteldian and Emylita. We'd need to get you over to Gfay from Nek, but we've got some druids who can help out so that wouldn't be an issue. They won't be playing regularly until next week.
We also had a new mage join us today in Gfay :)

Not really; faction can be a concern for cities, but it can be gotten around with good friends who don't mind going out of the way to help you out :)
We've all got to work around faction, good or evil!

An update on where we're at!
We're accepting all races/classes/levels, and have multiple groups going on in the 10-20 range, at various times throughout the day, and while there are some specific needs for those specific groups, we're also open to everyone as we build up the guild and start making other groups internally than those which already exist. So don't be afraid to join even if you play outside of one of the existing groups! We'll find a place for you and help you get sorted out for leveling/questing!
We have a 5-man static group in the low 20s playing Wed, Thurs, and Fri nights at 8 - 11 EST, and have room for a DPS or Druid/Shaman. Right now we're in Upper Guk.
Our morning static for Mon, Wed, and Fri that takes place from roughly 7 - 11 EST is now a four-man crew after two of our party became busy with work. We're in the 16-18 range for now, and are sticking to overland content (Oasis) while there's just four of us, although we'll be moving out to the Overthere shortly. This group has room for a cleric + DPS class of some type. (we have SK + Druid + Chanter + Monk so far)
Our afternoon EST group, which is based around a Pally/Cleric/Chanter combo who are from the UK. They usually play mid-to-late afternoon EST, and are in the 10-12 bracket over in Crushbone. I sometimes join them with my level 12 mage, but there's room for three more here who are in the leveling range.
And we've got a few randoms in between who play solo or duo and join the groups when they can, and are looking to find more to increase their group size. So...if you are looking for a guild that is all about leveling, socializing, community, and fun, we're probably your best shot :)
We also DO NOT CARE if you are new, untwinked, fresh, returning, or etc. All of our toons are relatively new and we're doing this for fun so....look us up!

Drat, I knew I should of made a druid. :( Maybe I should reroll? I'd need some help in the new city though. It took me hours to learn Neriak and Nektulos ..ehehehe I do not have a good sense of direction. Thank goodness for Sense Heading!
I am level 6 enchanter now, and play during the afternoon mostly. Looking to find a group that I can fit into.

11-18-2015, 11:24 AM
I am asking because I will play in the best group available to me because of my play times. I do like my enchanter, but I still want to be useful to the guild. :) If the low level group could use one, I'm all game! I've played healers in many games. I just saw the enchanter looked unique compared to other MMORPGs, so I picked it.
Renfail
11-18-2015, 11:30 AM
Right now the low level group has a chanter/paladin/cleric, but another chanter is not a bad thing at the low level.
That being said, if you wanted to roll something else in Greater Faydark to join their group specifically, that would not be a bad option as they have room for 2-3 more people :)
Lorelei
11-18-2015, 11:41 AM
Okay, the druid sounds like the best bet for now then. Perhaps if in the future, a group needs an enchanter, I could return to her and to fill the role. Also that would help put me in this "Greater Faydark" (Druids do begin there, yes?) that you keep talking about, and I wouldn't have to worry about being a burden to bring there. :) It would be great if someone could help me bring over the money I have made to my new druid, however. Also, I mained a druid in WoW, so I have a lot of experience being a healer with some side damage and CC. ;)

11-18-2015, 11:54 AM
If you do a wood-elf yes, you'll start in Greater Faydark in the city of Kelethin.
I'll be around throughout the day today on either Stemp or Lupita and can help out with transfers and getting your toons invited.

Welcome to the new folks! We invited five just yesterday, and are moving up!
With the fresh blood we've got more groups setting up in the 10-15 range, and we're still wide open for anyone from all classes and races, from newbie virgins to veterans, twinked or un-twinked, and we're actively working on leveling folks up!
Community and socialization are the primary focuses here with us, so you won't find a bunch of 40+ or 60+ toons hanging out while you are expected to "sort it out" on your own, so if you want a place to level and have fun with other players, look us up!

Had a great night in Crushbone. Invited 3 guys, and they all seem to know the game really well and played a lot in the old days. It was a lot of fun. New MMORPGs just don't have that feeling. People can actually have reason to group in EQ!

I think your guild would be a nice fit for me. I have a very flexible schedule and take much enjoyment in helping/seeing content with my mates! Currently have a 31 druid and a 23 chanter on the server, but once I get some gear, I will primarily play a warrior :D I'll hit you guys up in game

Our ranks have swollen nicely over the past week or so that we've been picking up all the new folks and non-twinked and getting them into the fold, into groups, and leveling up!
We're still accepting all levels/classes/races, and have plenty of room, so if you are looking for groups and a guild, we're ready and willing and have plenty of folks in the 10-20 range to group up!

Hello,
I am an altaholic. I currently have almost 20 characters spread over three accounts. None of them are higher than 13 at this time, several are still under 5. They range from an ogre shaman to a high elf chanter to a wood elf ranger. I have no Trolls (yet). I have no Bards, Clerics, Paladins, Rogues or Warriors as I have found that those classes do not entertain me. Any other race/class/gender combo is fair game.
My "Mains" consist of approximately six characters that are dedicated to a static group that plays at 7:30 to 9:30 pm on Wednesdays. Which character I play on any given Wednesday depends on who shows up and where we decide to go.
The rest of the week I play randomly in the evenings and any time the spirit moves me on weekends.
It would be nice if I could at least get a guild tag for some of my lesser toons so that I at least have someone to chat with and/or possibly group with during my non-wednesday play times.
I tend to play a lot while watching TV so when soloing i like to find a safe place to sit and will kill whatever wanders by or will get up and chase something down during commercials. So you can see I am not a power leveler. Some times I might log on to a character just long enough to get 4 or 5 kills and then go to another character for a few.
So if I decline you group invite, it's nothing personal.
But there are times when it would be nice to group for an hour or two, like an orc1 or Crushbone group, so being in a casual guild with a wide variety of players would come in very handy.
I will keep an eye out for your guild tag and give you a shout if I see any of you.

Still recruiting! And here's an update.
Our highest group right now has been spending their Wed/Thurs/Fri evenings in Cazik Thule in their late 20s. There are multiple mid teens groups going on, mostly in the afternoon and early evening slots, and still room for more to join!
We've got a Mon/Tues/Wed early morning group who are in The Overthere now, and moving into Warsliks woods, and plenty of room to bring more people on board who are looking to explore old-school EverQuest!

We're spreading out a bit more now...with groups in Antonica, Kunark, and Velious :)
Still recruiting both newbies and veterans who want a social, fun place to level up and enjoy the game :)
