I've heard there's some sort of penalty for characters with under 75 AGI? What is this exactly?
I started a Shadow Knight and forgot about the agility, I only now realize at level 5 that the SK's agility is 70. Is this something I shouldn't worry about or should I be looking for a piece of jewelry with AGI on it?
its a pretty big hit, you should find something to wear that will tip you over 75.

Anyone know the specifics of the penalty?

It drastically lowers your AC. It should be easy enough to raise it by 5 with gear though, I wouldn't worry much.

I would suggest trying to get Mithril breastplate or a serpentine bracer both are pretty cheap.

I believe it depends on your AC, and how far below 75 you are. At level 40 if I drop from 75 agi to 74 even (being slightly encumbered, even by 1 weight) I lost 50+ AC. So it's definitely big.

This.
As a tank class the hit to AC from being sub-75 AGI is a big enough deal that it will follow you around in all of your gearing decisions for quite some time. There are absolutely ways to gear yourself around it, but level 5 is a very good time to permanently correct this issue by rerolling and grinding back up.
For me, the time spent reacquiring level 5 would be well worth not having to worry about AGI on gear as I upgrade.

Yup. Reroll and fix it, or be sad that you have to worry about finding armor with agi.

Normally I'm against this but at level 5 I think it's worth it.

Worst advice I've ever seen. Not because he's suggestion retooling a level 5, but because he's advising you to spend training points in agility. Awful awful advice. 5 agility will come so easily wit gear it's stupid.

you do not add starting points to agility for any class ever. 70 is fine, you will get gear with agility on it by the time this matters. It's ironic to see all the suggestions for AGI gear that has total shit AC on it. Your HP and STR/STA and even INT should be higher priority then AGI for quite some time.

I think it's ridiculous to advice people not to put points into agility. Put the 5 points in. Not every character is a twink, and str/sta come so easily from plate armor that you're not hampering yourself with 5 points in agility. You'll definitely be helping yourself especially at low levels.

Rons is right. You don't want to have to deal w/ the AC penalty of low AGI. It is substantial and only increases w/ encumbrance. Unless you've a set of established friends and know for certain you will be expediting this character to 60 to spend the majority of your time in lines for raiding, having AGI at 75 or above is a good plan ^^ You WILL notice the AC difference at L10. You will NOT notice the missing 5hp that an extra 5 sta would award you.
