The Story of Fandango and Ragnaros (videos inside)

So today 10/17/15 Ragnaros finally followed through on his challenge and met up with me to have our duel to the death. We agreed on using self buffs only, I even shared my SoW sword with him. We also agreed on no pelling, and fighting to the death.

Now I found this out after the duel, a bystander druid who was obviously short on platinum disrespected our duel and agreed to give Ragnaros outside buffs for a small price

Now I am not mad at the young druid, perhaps his port business hasn't been doing well lately. I am just disappointed in Ragnaros that he felt he needed to cheat to win.


The fight was fairly even until we were both about 20%, and then everything fell apart. Instead of fighting to the death in the designated spot, Ragnaros decided it was too risky and came up with a brilliant strategy, he decided he would run throughout the OT outpost hoping I would hit an npc with my bow via collision damage and cause myself to die to mobs, probably hoping he could last hit me with mobs on myself. A fair plan indeed, unfortunately for Ragnaros I am the best player on the server.

You can see in the below screenshot how Ragnaros tried to suicide to mobs, wouldn't even take the YT. I am just too quick on the draw and stole the satisfaction my ally General V'Deers would have received from finishing off Ragnaros himself

Now all the excitement is over and Ragnaros has to log on his alts to corpse run, look for a port back, secure a rez for himself, possibly drag his puny little corpse to a safe spot.

What the video doesn't show though is Decibel hammering in to help finish me off while I was still at 20% ( as you can see in Fandango's tells it was all set up ) That made me lose all honor in you and really wasn't necessary as you probably would of killed me by bowing me anyways. Only landed a couple bow shots during the joust, not my fault you decided to give up at 20% and run around the outpost while I bowed you down a full 20% to your death. You coulda won with one backstab when we were both at 20, why give up?

Especially when you know how accurate and deadly I am with my bow?

the poor druid filming the video died at the last twenty seconds of the fight because he tried to film as ragnaros fled throughout the city and died to mobs, was cruel how you laughed in teamspeak about his death too, i'll go ahead and get him a rez. you obviously don't care who you hurt.

Exactly what I figured happened. It's just like rogue BoTB with Barbarians boulderquesting. The other rogues had to reconfigure their whole playstyle to try and deal with the range based attacks.

Means nothing.

fandango can't youst, that's why he inevitably lost to me in our 1v1. his usage of ranged item meant nothing to my 2k hp pool. even with 800hp less than fandango i won. because i'm the better rogue.

There's always somebody better at the game, either through more gear, or more skill, because they tend to be putting in more "effort" (i.e. Raiding hours, camping, questing, sitting at PoM ready to blast nakeds). But nobody sees them as better because they're putting in the time. It's because they're toxic, strong arming the server, or because they're a zerg.

The opposite can be said for people like Sam or easy targets like Thunderdome/TMO. They don't simply subscribe to a different play style, they got griefed off the server or they're terrible at this game because they're a bunch of whiny crybabies.

Point of the sig is that we're all the same. The only difference is the perspective by which we're being judged.

2) If bows are so relevant in pvp fights between melees that they can decide them, then Ragnaros and all the other non bow rogues have just been playing poorly all along by not having them in their pvp itinerary. Bag of pumice, bag of potions, bow and quiver-welcome to the new future. Fandango knew bows to be an asset, so he had one for the fight and still caries one for normal pvp, and he probably gets kills with it chasing down people who run from him. I'm sure all this scumduggery about bows and throwing daggers/boulders goes back to non barbarian not wanting to 1v1 barbarian rogues, but bows can be used by anyone so rag just needs to stop bitching and get on Fandangos level. I mean apparently he had a bow just not the archery skill, and was only trying to raise it on the very same day of the duel.

If any of this talk about bows being incredibly powerful is true though, I guess you can look forward to the day when every St Empire rogue has their own primal bow and,-by your logic-will then be able to defeat any friends rogue 1v1 no matter how much additional group gear that rogue has acquired. Primal velium reinforced bow-the way of the future for Roguequest on p99. Get used to it.

well im pretty sure its been tested back on live and throwing is still more DPS for a rogue, a nice ammount more, i could bother looking for the numbers but its too early in the morning. theres some oldschool post from someone durin luclin era testin it and puttin down numbers. It was during luclin era tho, not sure about velious now but should be the same, throwin dps should be better than bow for a rogue tho they have less range for pvp

no, bow dmg is the half u see there, so if u see 30 dmg its 15 dmg really with the same delay.

So today 10/17/15 Ragnaros finally followed through on his challenge and met up with me to have our duel to the death. We agreed on using self buffs only, I even shared my SoW sword with him. We also agreed on no pelling, and fighting to the death.

Now I found this out after the duel, a bystander druid who was obviously short on platinum disrespected our duel and agreed to give Ragnaros outside buffs for a small price

Now I am not mad at the young druid, perhaps his port business hasn't been doing well lately. I am just disappointed in Ragnaros that he felt he needed to cheat to win.


The fight was fairly even until we were both about 20%, and then everything fell apart. Instead of fighting to the death in the designated spot, Ragnaros decided it was too risky and came up with a brilliant strategy, he decided he would run throughout the OT outpost hoping I would hit an npc with my bow via collision damage and cause myself to die to mobs, probably hoping he could last hit me with mobs on myself. A fair plan indeed, unfortunately for Ragnaros I am the best player on the server.
