Oops I should have posted more. 775 is some ancient ass shit so throwing any more money at that machine is a waste. You'll never get the same bang for your buck trying to upgrade that machine as compared to building a new one. I know that's not what you want to hear, but that is my advice to you.

i honestly can understand why some people would think that. but, i only bought this for 200, i have upgraded from 4gb to 8gb for free pretty much, i could spend $100-$150 for a new video card and this should run most games out there, maybe not on the highest setting but i dont really care about that.. besides i play P99 more than anything else and this PC streams just fine even with only the 4gb. so an extra $100 isnt really a waste to me. even though its a 775, the CPU really isnt horrible, its no i7, but still not garbage IMO. pokesan, if you have a reccomendation for a video card i would be glad to check it out.

I'm still rocking a core2duo on 775. Nicer graphics card will be bottle necked by the cpu is the thing. Maybe a nvidia 960? Any decent budget card will be a huge upgrade.

Only upgrade i could suggest on that machine that would net a ton of speed and u could throw in a new machine when u do upgrade is an ssd drive. Anything else your just throwing money away imo. If your really set on upgrading it i see really nice graphics cards for dirt cheap on craiglist, just beware of overclocks...

Another route you can take is to upgrade your motherboard with a pci slot for your old graphics card, but have a pci x16 slot for a new card later. Look for one with a socket for an i5 processor or better. You will also have to upgrade your RAM, but that should be cheap.
If you have built systems in the past or are semi familiar with the do's and dont's of keeping your pc cleaned out, you might try over clocking. If you only open your case once every other year I wouldn't suggest overclocking.

do not listen to this guy(unless you buy a new processor as well)
SSD would be a very good buy for you. Echoing what the others said. AND it's still a nice part for when you decide to upgrade for realsies

Just to reiterate get an ssd drive.. if u can, a video card for cheap... and if u wanna roll the dice http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00116SLZS/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&condition=used those wolfdale cpus are still pretty decent. Really tho anymore u can get a pretty decent rig thats gonna be faster than anything u can upgrade to for 500 bucks so keep that in mind. you allready have 200 invested.

im gonna keep the CPU i have unless i can find a used one fore cheap thats better, other than that im just going to buy a video card that i can use when i upgrade to a new machine. i only play everquest really so what i have now works fine and streams well. atleast with a new video card i can play most games just not on high settings, which isnt a deal breaker for me.

well, im buying a video card for it, the video card will be an upgrade even if i dont get full power out of it. atleast this way i can still use it when i actually build a new machine, so im not really taking a loss.

If you're going for a video card, go straight to the Tesla K80. Won't need to upgrade for decades.

I had my GTX460 2GB card for...5 years. Everything I played on it was 30+ FPS. I then upgraded to a GTX660. Still have it and have NO issues with any game. 30+ still.

Scientists mostly (from grants). Enroll in a grad program! Bet that single card puts the 512 node cluster my school had to shame. :p

I thought the "Tesla K80" post was some kind of trolling. Like telling him to install Google Ultron.
Nope. This sorcery is real:

For SSD i would keep a eye out at http://slickdeals.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=9
With black friday around corner there will be plenty of deals to be had.
For Video card can check out http://www.evga.com/Products/ProductList.aspx?type=8
Its refurbed stuff with year warrenty. Ive gotten 3 cards from their bstock in the last 2 years and havent had issues with any of them.
If all you mainly play is EQ you will be fine getting one of the 50-100 dollars cards just make sure they are compatible with your system.
