It really should have been during the last 3 day weekend. Hopefully it's postponed until the next extended break for these exact reasons.

I'd even go a step further and do a quick 3-7 day beta or two before the server is released for an entire season. The biggest issues (excessive CCing of newbie areas, exploitative behavior with items or npcs nobody saw coming, etc) are going to be revealed in the first couple days if not hours. Doing a dry run would go a long way to highlighting them before it "counts".

That's a great idea with great intentions that would be horribly abused by this community. Would you seriously trust the people here to report issues instead of exploit them? I don't think there's anything that could replicate day-of asshattery, like creative use of exploits and training big mobs to zone lines. . People won't do much of that in a beta. Just use it as information gathering on mechanics to get a leg up.

Anyways it's kinda moot. We agree an October release is a horrible idea, so best case is early to mid November before the holiday season starts to really kick into high gear. Any later than that and I'd almost rather it be in January.

Every day the appeal dips a little more though, so I doubt I'll do more than play a few hours until the first big death.

the end result was song of highsun no longer working on raids from that point on in time

last time i ever told SoE about any bug

ps. Song of highsun restores NPCs to 30% hp when they gate, regardless of distance to their gate point

if you don't see how you can exploit this, either to win events in velious or to grief people, you shouldn't be playing a bard
