I am trying to figure out which raid weapons are best for a ranger.

This spreadsheet (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1zpdYXrsDbofuQnDbkEKDDNgLjzQEOAUBMdQoqS-8fhE/edit?pli=1#gid=0) seems in bad shape.

DPS rating for offhand does not take offhand damage into account but uses delay twice instead.
Offhand weapon ratio is always 1 (delay/delay).
Primary hand uses 2h haste cell.
The formulas do not use the STR, weapon skill or ATK value.
Double attack value is never used (I suppose this should not affect the comparison).

In details, I would like to know if Horn of Hsagra (13/20) is better than Swiftblade of zek (11/18).
There is probably another parameter: mob AC. I suppose horn is slightly better by a small margin. This is confirmed by my cleanup of the above spreadsheet.
However, this may not be true if the mob has very high AC, in which case the smaller delay on swiftblade would apply damage bonus more often.

Same question for Swiftwind (13/21 and 30 atk bonus) vs Claw of Lightning (14/18, no atk bonus).
The question becomes harder, since the atk bonus from swiftwind also affects primary hand damage.

I suppose I could invest in getting each of them and parse fights, but I would rather know beforehand.

Isn't the weapon off Vulak pretty baller? Tolan's sword?

Thanks for the input on best of the best weapons, but mostly I'm interested in the journey to get there and how to pick upgrades.
The math behind weapon efficiency would help, and wiki only seems to know about max damage.
I could not find formulas on ATK and how mobs AC affects damage.

I could not find formulas on ATK and how mobs AC affects damage.

The ones used here are proprietary to p99, we won't be getting that formula. Just have to rely on old analysis, which likely won't be be exact to here, or parse them out here.

Pretty unballer dps wise.

Baton of Flame/Braid of Golden Hair is probably the best overall dps combo.

braid of golden hair has a worse ration than claw of lightning and also has an aggro proc that likely won't land anyway

Orc Impaler and Electrum-Bladed Wakizashi

Have you been reading the Pre-Planar gear reference? =D

My Go-To Deeps situation is Wurmslayer/Swiftwind

Gotta love the double swing/dual wield whammy, do like ~400dmg in one hit. Decent delay for proccing Call of Sky too! Stun/push so important!

While Wurmslayer has a good ratio, its an awful mainhand once damage bonus ramps up because it swings so damn slow it can't make use of the free damage.

And weapon speed doesn't impact proc rate

Worse ratio yes. But it's a -100 mr check magic dot. If it lands, it does more damage than the claw.

Just use the monk spreadsheet here? https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1hjfitKSFcDgF11k2bK8Zs3zE1UR_XOZ1S3QwAgL33lk/edit?usp=sharing

Thank you for the link to the monk spreadsheet. How are the values calculated?
The formulas are hidden.

Vulak weapon (Tolan's) is largely a flop because it's very similar to Swiftwind (worn haste) and then it has worn AC rather than the worn ATK of swiftwind.

Add in an inferior mainhand ratio than Baton of Flame, as well as lacking a proc, and you're left with a pretty bad weapon. I guess it's ok for tanking.

baton of flame + kreizenn's flame would be my choice. with that willsapper handy

Aren't monks on a completely different damage table to rangers? I suspect there are other differences too, when me and my friend were level 30 my ranger with 160 str would hit for 32 using a 16 DMG weapon, whereas my friend's monk with 92 str would hit for more like 50 using a 14 DMG.

We were surprised for that difference, which was supplemented by the monks vastly superior weapon options! After being limited to the worst weapons in classic it seemed monk itemisation went insane with Kunark!
