Can't decide!!

Whatsup guys,
Just got off Active Duty Navy, going to school on the GI Bill, and have all the time in the world.... TIME TO START PLAYING SOME EVERQUEST

I can't decide what class to play haha, I played Ranger on Live for over 10 years.. but..

Here's what I'm torn between.. and yeah I am going to be playing on Red.

Wood Elf - Ranger
Dark Elf - Shadowknight
Half Elf or High Elf - Paladin

I like to tank
but I also like to have a kickass class at PvP
idk, ideas?

Judging by whatcha said you like to do, ranger can be ruled out immediately. Hope that makes your choice 33.3% easier !

Don't let people discourage you from your choices, with a good guild and some gearing those will be perfectly viable. I quit live in PoP, but I remember quite a few solid opponents in those classes from Tallon Zek.
Out of the 3, I would say SK is the more nasty of them, and ranger the least. I used to have access to the best Pally on TZ and boxed him with my cleric, he was pretty damn beast.

Don't be discouraged by people, any of those are viable if given a chance. Play what you enjoy.
I had access to the best paladin on TZ back around Velious/Luclin/Pop and he was nasty.

Ranger is pretty much the pariah of P99 - they don't hit their stride in the Velious timeline.

Welcome to the server and thank you for your service! For PVP I would say rangers are probably the most engaging, but would urge you to take your question to the R99 boards for some more experienced feedbacks ^^ only been on red for 2 months myself, but it is fantastic. Once you settle on a class and roll your char, contact a member of Thunderdome (R99s premier leveling guild!) and join up for a deep supply of pals to level with ^^ Goood luck!

Don't make a ranger for pvp unless you have a windstriker ready for him.

They're squishy and can be out jousted without one.

Just play whatever you will have fun with, that's what the game is for.

SKs are superior tanks, but paladin's are my favorite tanks for PVP servers. I'd suggest paladin if you want to pvp tank, but SK if you want to just tank. Also, thunderdome is a magnificent guild, i implore you to go with them. Coming from a green,giving it to a blue ;)
