Cleric Needs Cash

So I want to main a cleric, but clerics are pretty shit at farming platinum. What would be the best class to make for the sole purpose of farming plat for my cleric? I'm guessing it would be an Enchanter/Shaman/Necromancer/Mage, I just don't know which to settle on. Another question: should I even bother with Seafuries, or are there too many people watching OOT to farm there without support?

People gonna yell at me for saying this but on red I value plat farming over item farming.

If you have illusions of grandeur a Mage is the best. They are also the best long term investment for farming.

an easier than Mage but similar play style suggestion is a necro.. basically some power, and no Epic Pet requirements. Able to do a decent job of chill farming.

If you want the easiest access to power, and don't mind a more risky 3rd option is an enchanter. You dont need any epic, they're easy as f to gear, you can solo all the way to power farming with a OP pet. I tired of this class because I hated the "pay attention" factor they require.. something that really kinda starts to suck when you are farming shit for hours on end.

Side note, enchanter is nice, because if you decided you want to farm Items you can, better than the aforementioned 2.

However: Vendor farming > Named farming on red because on red you never know when you are going to have to stop farming and start pvping.. if you are farming plat, and you get pushed out, or killed or just end up pvping for 60 minuets, all of the time spent at said camp prior to that results in you having obtained gems/plat to bank.. you could spend 3 hours clearing a named PH and FINALY get it to spawn, only for that Rogue to happen to log in on that moment and dust you.

But the real truth is, by the time you clear to/clear a camp.. someone is going to be there to push your shit in.

Special note on green con camps? you may as well camp those with a 60 monk, thats the most efficient green mob camping toon on the planet.. or your cleric, who cares its green shit an level 60 can camp green shit.

Lastly Shamans, they are a great class sure. On blue I did everything you could do with one, but on red , partially because I was so over farming with a shaman, I hated it.. but one of the worst things about them is, to really maximise the power of a shaman you have to root rot like 6 blue cons at once.. any less than that and you are just a really bad shaman.. The rub is, on red if you have 6 blue cons rooted and someone starts pvping with you? youre fucked.. My expression for how i felt about being a shaman on red is, it's the best class at efficiently setting itself up for disaster.

Finally special special note, I think a bard is alright.. at 60 you can do a lot of outdoor farming that is pretty safe and often very lucrative.. So there is a lot of value in a bard swarm farmer.

What this dude said, a competent enchanter outfarms an epic mage (without C) pp/hour wise in OOT, and no need for epic or anything. Also as an enc you can farm tons of stuff other than OOT.

I can't imagine this would get me enough platinum to afford something like a Velium Blue Diamond Bracelet or any other pieces of higher end jewelry, let alone some of the better MR gear.

a cleric on red is actually a good farming toon, considering most big drops are contested by a few other folks, and or just pvpers looking to kill people trying to kill nameds.

So Its best to find a pal or 2 that have similar playtimes/goals and down stuff that is usualy solo'd on blue with them.

Paineel undead guards. Best place for cleric to farm IMO. Undead nukes work. IVU works. At 26 the ones at the front are perfect for you, drop bronze weapon and shield for about 12p per kill. The ones deeper in you can farm til 45.

Depending on your faction/sneak ability you may be able to vendor down there. Don't know is it's been needed. When I did it I bound at the druid ring in tox and would make trips, tho I think they nerfed the entrance rock where you can no longer duck through. Can always bag/drop/camp to an alt.

Rarely will you see anyone there except for the brand new toon or people en route to hole. It's not condusive to pvp and in lower levels there shouldn't be anyone in range.

Yeah man just level up and roll on stuff from groups.. if you know how to pve well it wont be hard at all you'll sink way more time and effort trying to farm before you lvl up.

Most people will having a druid/wiz alt to port you.
