Saw a documentary on CNN. That sign is there they said they first saw the armed guards standing post, and realized they had made the biggest mistake of their lives agreeing to come to this glorified commune.

If you are into communal living bs, theres healthy non politicized options in the US. Jones was just given a big mouth by the media who liked to romanticize the Communist war, their reporting was faux-skeptical and non-judgmental rather than doing hatchet pieces on Jones from the jump. Which is what they should have been doing...

If the newspapers had ignored that guy from day 1 while he was trying to build his shitty church in California, maybe there would have been less casualties.
