Would you rather grind an asian grind-fest MMO/EQ, or grind an 8 hour day where you can do nothing but sit there and maybe are required to be attentive for only 3-4 hours out of those 8 hours, and only 3 days a week out of 5 average to be an effective employee.

Most office jobs that should allow telecommuting and ample flex-time aren't allowing it.

Nothing makes me sicker, or is more of a grind to me, than the 8 hour mandatory work day when most office jobs do not warrant a full 8 hour work day for all 5 days of the week.

Soul draining isn't even the word to describe this scenario. Half the country is on medication to deal with exactly this type of unnatural prison style environment. Some corps like Google are amazing about making sure their employees are tasked properly and well balanced. That's the 1% exception.
