Shaman Race Question - Velious Era-

With velious being out, I still realize ogre is hands down still the best race. However, my question is, iksar is no longer the worst choice now correct ?

Ogre was never and still isn't hands down the best :p

Torpor AT 60 helps negate the regen bonus, but torpor also trivializes content that is soloable enough that historically there were just as many barbarians and troll trophy hunters as there were Ogres.

Prior to torpor, sorry but that regen really does making grouping and soloing a lot easier. More regen equates to a lot less down time solo and a lot more available mana in a group.

It's an age old argument, but I never would have considered iksar the worst. If anything barbarian ranks lowest imo. Only real perk is faction (a non-issue) and slightly faster xp.

If you don't want to be an ogre, which is the best because frontal stun resist makes a big difference when you are backed against a corner in a dungeon, then you can be whatever race you want.

You don't get JBB with iksar but you can still live. You will have an AC bonus so maybe that will make you pretty great.

Choose the best (ogre) or choose your favorite.

frontal stun immunity really doesn't matter when the mob is slowed.. which it will be 9 out of 10 times before it's even in melee range

jbb is irrelevant once you're 60

iksar best shaman race for sure, especially on pvp servers

Edit: Because of VP robe? But Fungi is really important so maybe not that.

Edit2: How do people feel about stamina vs wisdom with starting stats for Iksar, too?

Anybody able to gimme a quick rundown on why Iksar Shaman are great in Velious? I've seen it mentioned in multiple threads now but never expanded on.

AC is very important in velious. Mobs have a higher attack.
Iksar have an AC bonus. Also, iksars are not excluded from wearing any (for the most part at least) items that other race shamans can wear.

Regen is passive and always there. It's literally like built in FT for shaman, especially leveling up. Iksar ac bonus is nice. JBB is 33 dps sustained, which is also nice, even at 60. It's definitely solid for farming/adding dps in groups.

Yeah I know it's been debated in to the ground (and I've read all of them, still have no personal decision yeesh), not really wanting people to go through it again here. I was only curious specifically about why Iksar Shaman is great in Velious (and PvP), thought maybe they had meaningful stuff other races couldn't equip or something along those lines.

I just rolled a troll. I think JBB is more useful than the AC bonus. Also you get OT hammer and snare neck or undead fear neck as a troll...

That said. If the iksar ac bonus actually works then Iksar would conceivably be able to solo the hardest mobs, solo. In practice I'd think the odds of a small ac bump making that much of a difference are probably pretty low.

At the OT outpost as a kos char(barb sham or iksar) to then turn in braids? I read skelly illusion gets enough faction to do it and for us new folks without acess to AoN would it work? This is red where puppet strings are hard to come by.
