Does forum moderation exist here? If so how do i report posts that should be looked into? i cannot find that information anywhere.

There are actually good people around here. Don't pay much attention to RnF; its a play ground for us peeps who are mostly bored and want to banter and kick rocks.

The community isn't all crap, i will admit that. i've played with in game and had forum conversations with some decent folks. The problem is the folks that have nothing better to do then to make the community look like crap. It's unfortunate that these bad apples are not only allowed to continue to post, but are at times protected.
6 months of a break from here, and after day 2 it's already the same. In a way im glad i didn't reinstall EQ like i considered doing.

If its in RnF forum then no real point to complaining unless its severely bad. But yeah nothing has changed in 6 months. Not sure why you think it would.

severely bad? i dunno man, i guess accusing someone of actual real life crimes is pretty bad to me. Of course it has been seen by GMs (unsure if they mod forums) and nothing was ever done. so i suppose i'm wasting my time on this one.

Your problem is you actually take things on the internet seriously. Just pretend everything on the internet is fake and not worth your time to worry or complain about and your life will be easier.

I don't take it seriously, it's just frustrating. it's frustrating in the way that someone who is mentally challenged can grind on someone's gears. They cannot help it because they have the maturity of a child, but it doesn't make it any less annoying.

They should just wipe the forums and the server and start over. Maybe a fresh start would be healthy.

I did play here quite a bit. I stopped when it was no longer fun due to toxic players. I would like to return, but I see no point if it's the same as when I left. Wouldn't it be a better community if people could be even a bit more respectful?

No, no, no. Some things you should take seriously. Like the guys who threaten to shoot up places or kill/rape people and then proceed to do it, only maybe take them seriously before they actually do it.

I think the people who are nasty to each other on here are in a bad place mentally, even if they say it's for fun. I would recommend avoiding certain sections, but it seems to be spreading these days so nowhere is really pleasant.

A forum is easier to moderate then a game playing in real time. If the forum has almost no moderation then it's a tell tale sign that the game has even less. I stopped playing due to toxic players, i enjoyed the game and the server quite a bit. I do miss the folks i enjoyed playing with, but i won't go back to something that isn't fun for me due a total lack of rule enforcement or moderation.

EDIT: I would not be surprised if alot of folks left and never returned without saying a thing. P99/R99 could have higher populations, if just requires a little house cleaning.

if you are talking about RED rnf.. its basically a tight-knit group of IRL friends that have met each other here and they post/harass each other and love doing it. So it may seem like they are doxing each other, but the truth is they all doxed each other long ago and keep on carrying on.

If its blue off topic its like 5 really racist psychos among a bunch of random folks.

I've seen some, it is a small percentage that are troublesome. I don't get offended very easy and I've dealt with some seriously scummy people (I played ALOT of call of duty on xbox) I guess I expected a bit more of a mature community for an emulated game from 1999. Suppose that's my fault for having faith in a community. Lol :)

I've had the impression that you were kind of a troll for a while now, actually.

I think if you absorb too much of the attitude that some posters have, you might genuinely lower your ability to empathize with other people. It's actually really negative on these forums but I think a lot of regular posters have lost sight of normal behavior. Somehow it's looped around to the point where people have convinced themselves that being nasty to others is fun.

Despite all the ragging everyone does on Swish, he's probably the most consistently friendly/upbeat poster here. (Swish, I know you're reading this. Go make yourself useful and write an introductory R99 guide for the newbies explaining how everything works. Use this page (http://wiki.project1999.com/About_Red99) since it's linked on the front page of the wiki anyway.)

I understand trolling, been there done that. i find it fun in certain applications. Hell i've done it on the red server, but it was within good taste.

What the toxic people do is hardly trolling, hell they found it in good taste to make fun of someone dying... come on now.

yea, I mean gamers are weird. Im a gamer but Ill admit that some of them are crazy. If i did that on twitter, my house would have already been burnt down by some rogue group of them.
