View Full Version : Gnoll Teeth Successor Quest?

I turned in about 37 BB Gnoll teeth yesterday. Starting at level 10 with 2 yellow bubs. That basically got me to level 11 with almost 3 yellows. I would say it was worth it because while collecting the 37 teeth I went 9 to 10 and plus teeth got me to 11. I suspect the turn in xp is getting to the point of diminishing returns though.

I always enjoyed the mobs I kill to have some bonus xp quest too like belts and teeth. Where would be my next likely 13~17ish area I can hunt that has a dropped xp hand in component where the hand in is worth doing? I seem to remember something in halas and everfrost?

Any suggestions?

Bandit sashes from the karanas, orc scalp/gnoll scalp from HHP.....after that it seems the original devs gave up on hand-in quests. EQ is more Ever and less Quest.

I don't recall anything specific to Halas and Everfrost, but you can certainly do Bandits in West Karana. Turn their sashes in at the Knights of Thunder... the Karana worshiping cleric and paladin guild in South Qeynos. Turn in NPC is Chesgard Sydwen. Good exp and great money since you generally get a bronze weapon from the turn in.

Killing the Rabid Grizzly in Qeynos hills is a good one. Take the putrid bear pelt that it drops (no drop, but not lore) and give it to Priestess Caulriain the Qeynos Cleric Guild. The rabid grizzly is decent XP itself, and always wanders by the entrance to blackburrow, traveling north to south. You can kill the nearby gnolls for teeth between grizzlies

There aren't a lot of good turn-in quests for XP between 15 and 25, but once you get to 25 you can go to High Keep and kill goblins for left goblin ears, which yield a pretty good amount of XP and the NPC for the turn in is right next to the camp.

Are there any casters among those bandits?

Are there any casters among those bandits?

Some of them are druids I believe, but they just cast weak ass lightning spells

There are casters and they do cast weak ass lightning spells. But when you're level 9 they can drop you fast especially if you're busy with melee ads.

Yeah, dont make the mistake that I did at level 13. I thought that I was pretty cool and went strolling into the bandit camp on the mountain side, north of the farm camp. I got dropped so fast it was rediculous. For one thing, there is a brigand (high level bandit-type) that patrolled the area. Secondly, the casters literally chain nuke with ice. Unless you have rediculous resists, even high hp tanks will get torn up in a hurry.

But as the previous postes stated, it is the next logical step if you like turn in quests. The sashes wont stack, so bring lots of bag space. Id say the drop rate is about 1 in 4 or so, so not too terribly difficult to fill up. Bronze weapons range in sale price from a few gold up to 5 plat or so, so definitely worth it. Experience is average, but dont expect rapid leaps forward like you get with gnoll teeth

Yes, lets set them up to get killed by Holly Windstalker.

You can also kill willowisps and turn in the lightstones in NK for money/xp.

I tried the bandit camp in WK last night. Mixed bag. The wandering bandits and avoiding the red brigand made hunting the blue bandits a hairy experience. I think I would feel a lot safer hunting the bandits at 14 with SOW. Its a long run to the zone line. Do the guards in WK towers attack the bandits? I got 2 sashes and turned them in for 6pp. That is an attractive amount of cash given I need to buy level 14 spells soon.

The guards won't attack bandits in the karanas.

There's someone in halas that collects things dropped on orcs, but I don't know it it's worth doing. Only thing in everfrost i think worth it are the trolls and mammoths.

Maybe some don't, but the guards in West Karana that wander around the camp just north of the zone line to Qeynos hills will attack bandits. I have been leveling my alt there and had the guards save me several times.

That (degrading word for a women) killed me just earlier today! Darn tree hugging rangers and druids.

Orc scalps, gnoll ears, and goblin ears, give a few yellows while your hunting them, or you can save them for alts, or buy them for another character.

WISPS. Definitely wisps. You can take the boat from qeynos to eruds crossing and hunt on wisp island (pull them to beach unless you want lots of adds) or you can hunt them near the gypsies/guard tower in NK. Save the greater lightstones and turn them into the gypsy lady (myrsella i think). She will give you a concordance of research for each one. It a container so it takes up a main invintory slot but you can immediately sell it back to her for about 8 or 9 plat each. When I first came to p99 I did this on my chanter starting around lvl 10 and by the time i finally stopped I was lvl 20 and had saved up about 4000 platinum. Win Win.

to : samoht and any one else reading

Any Gnoll starting with Gnoll Scouts / some of the named in qeynos newby yard to all the gnolls inside and outside of blackburrow has a chance to drop a Gnoll Fang EAch of them can be turned in to qeynos war guild <cant rem captians name over looking pvp area> for Great xp. 20 of them wil get you nearly a full level at level 14.

Down side since it is one of best xp quest in game from 4 to 20. you get level 14 to 19 toons running around all blackburrow slaughtering any gnoll they see no matter if its deep green to them. makes it hard for a lower level toon to get some fangs of their own.
