So I am lvl 35 now on red and as a bard really want that blue, sexy lambent armor, however I am more of the solo do it myself sort of person and don't really want to get a group together to get the items needed.
I'm just wondering at what levels can I get most of the items needed to make it solo.
I tried to get the icy greaves in permafrost and lets just say I went down a level. :(
Thank you for any help

You won't be able to quest it solo until you get a lot more levels under your belt. I quested a full set mostly solo in my 40s, but still needed abut of help in places like cazic thule.

Well I guess its time to get kiting and get a group together for permafrost, Cazicthule, and Sol A.
Thanks for the help though.

You could probably solo it if you practice charm killing.

Totally. I did most of it solo on Red doing exactly this. The trickiest part was permafrost. Breaking that camp was a bitch.

Yeah permafrost mobs are so close together but glad to hear that I can solo most of it.
Never really thought of charm killing not exactly sure how, I think I charm a pet and send it in to attack another mob wait for one to die then kill the other, please correct me if I'm wrong.
But thanks for the information.

HMM...I might do this one day if I get my bard high enough. I can do it on my druid but only with animals. The principles are the same whichever class is doing it but the mechanics are slightly different.

You can forget it solo. It's frustrating I know, I spent months (Rl) trying to get the parts & realised that hunting with a group is the only way. You'll also have more of a laugh this way.

Are there something about the mechanics that make it less useful than enchanter charming? It seems like it would be a great way for a bard to add dps to any group they are in but you don't see it mentioned nearly as often. Much easier to find videos on swarm kiting than it is to find one on using charm effectively :p
Charm kiting is less...eh...fruitful than swarm-kiting, because if you can kill hundreds of mobs in 30 minutes instead of two mobs every 5 minutes, why go charm kiting? Not everyone who plays a bard is into mass genocide, it's just the most interesting thing bards can do so you get a lot of video of it.
As for bards in groups doing it, they're usually twisting a bunch of songs for other purposes and having a charmed pet break and beat on them is more trouble than it's worth most of the time. Plus, charm spells do use mana for bards.
You can actually charm kite and swarm kite at the same time. I haven't done that myself but I did find a guide on that very thing on the forums.
The most famous bard charm kiting incident is actually with Fansy the Famous Bard :) He charmed an NPC that the Priest of Discord would assist and sent the pet to kill players so the PoD would murder them in Rivervale. It was highly effective!

If i am chantering with a bard in group the standard deal is the bard charms the first add, i am responsible for anything more than that. It works out incredibly well if the bard isnt retarded.

I had forgot that bard charms required mana and I had never heard of Fansy...that was a good read!
