Have you pals considered other servers? Not promoting any specifically, but god damn why would you want to queue for pixels all day/night and then stand in the tunnel for a couple of days trying to sell them? I'm glad I looked into alternatives.
List of alternatives:-
Tak Project
Project 2002
PvP servers (a few on the EQ emulator list to choose from)
Epic Emu (lol)
The Hidden Forest (custom content)
PEQ
I logged into PEQ briefly last night while I was playing on one of the "other servers" and I have to say the "alternatives" are worth looking into. If you'd like more information about the alternatives I'm currently enjoying please PM me or leave a message below. Ty.

What about single player games? I think a lot of the players here could use some time away from other gamers.

The content was great, mods just protecting the mads from themselves and their keyboards.

if you are bored of eq and havent tried FFXIV you dont know what you are missing.
I have a few friends who'd love to pull me into FFXIV, but as long as it has a subscription fee I'm not touching it.

poor alert.
Don't touch the game bc it isn't good. The nonstop pop-culture puns for quest names will leave your face permanently cringed.

poor alert.
It's not that I can't afford it. I just don't like a game to feel like an obligation - like I really SHOULD be playing it because, well, I'm paying for it, aren't I? Sucks the fun out of it for me.
It's why I got tired of WoW (before that game went completely off the rails) and why I gave up on EQ in the first place (along with seeing how power creep was starting to get crazy in mid-PoP).
