52+ mage pets are still random levels?

Is this correct? I thought at 52 they all got summoned at a locked level?

Doesn't really matter where you post. No pet, in classic, with one exception is level locked.

random level ranges. you can tell by the damage they do. just keep summoning til you get one that does near max damage.
