Hello,

I'm having an issue with the V39 patch. When I copied over the files, I started receiving the following error:

Resources\GlobalLoad.txt does not match correct version. Please make sure to extract ALL files from the P99 Files ZIP.

Unfortunately, that's exactly what I did. I tried loading V37's globalload file, received the same issue. I've redownloaded V39's file and replaced, same issue. I haven't adjusted anything re: this particular file, so I'm confused as to why its not correct.

I'm running windows 7, sp1 64bit.

Please let me know if any other information is useful and I'll go find it.

Appreciate any help/ideas anyone has.

Also, checked the previous globalload.txt error thread:

https://www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?t=204453

I've posted the gobalload.txt file in the resources folder of the install directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\Sony\EverQuest\Resources). So the solution for the previous thread is not working.

Erase/Remove/Delete the text in the globaltextload txt document then put the new info in just extract the new resource folder gobalload txt into the old one, then press save then start eq your done

*don't change anything in your eq directory or the EQ game configuration*

appreciate the reply shift. Unfortunately, this solution didn't fix the error. Tried deleting the text, and copying in fresh text from the extracted file, same error.

Below is the content of the globalload.txt I obtained from the V39 extract (and what I'm trying to use in the install directory):

Having the same issue on my MAC. Every file has been copied over one by one post patch and GlobalLoad.txt does no longer match the current version.

Anyone else having this issue since patch or even better found a solution to the problem, please post.

I've tried the above also, with no success. Even tried using a previous update's globalLoad without success.

Any ideas?

I had the same issue, landed in this thread.

I literally replace what you posted above in my GlobalLoad.txt file and saved it, game on!

Worked for me anyhow.

Cheers.

Well, I'm glad it was able to help out Huggz. Still not working for me. Anyone else find a solution?

Bump. Hopefully the Devs are looking into this - I've tried copying and pasting the text on this thread to the globalload.txt file and nada.

Still getting
"Resources\GlobalLoad.txt does not match correct version. Please make sure to extract ALL files from the P99 Files ZIP."

I've tried reinstalling updates from today. I've tried copying and pasting whats listed on this thread. I've even had someone email me a copy of their working globalload.txt file and it still won't work.

Does anyone have any ideas?

If your eq installation is in program files, move it to root C:\

Then browse to your c:\everquest\resources, and replace globalload.txt with the one from the patch zip.

Note: you can just cut and paste the everquest folder, there is no need for reinstallation

It was in in the program files directory. I moved the entire EQ folder over to the root c:\ drive. I then re-downloaded the zip file from today and overwrote the globalload.txt file with the one from the zip.
Still giving me the same error.

I even tried deleting the globalload.txt file and transfering in the new (while in c:\) and still the same error. I'm really at a loss - been trying to get it working for 3 hours now. Before today's patch everything worked fine on my end for years (4+)

Thanks nilbog, that worked for me. I also figured out what was wrong with the other location.

KentalCowtipper, my problem was that there was a copy of globalload.txt in the virtualmachine that wasn't updating (here is my user path):

C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Sony\EverQuest\

A friend pointed this location out when I was trying to recover my UI files. Update this entire location with the V39 files. I updated that and my original install path worked.

Hopefully, this will fix your issue.

Cheers! Updating the VirtualStore files fixed the issue for me.

Does anyone know why the files get duplicated in this location?

If a program doesn't have write access to the Program Files folder, it goes there.

Hi Mimic. Thanks for trying to help me with this.
I did a query on windows for VirtualStore, VirtualMachine and others. I don't have a c:\users\user\appdata sub folders.

Nilbog any chance you want to make a quick 20 bucks? I'd pay ya if you can get this fixed. Could remote access in lol

I had to enable 'show hidden files'. to see the appdata stuff. Here's how for windows 7:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/show-hidden-files#show-hidden-files=windows-7

also, your 'user' may not be entitled 'user'. So if appdata doesn't show up when you show hidden files, check the 'user' title that you login with under the 'c:\users\name\appdata.

When I enable show hidden files there is now a folder for my user with appdata now available. Under virtualmachine there is a file for Sony/resources but in that resources file there was no globalload.txt file. I moved a copy from the zip download to that folder and I'm still getting the same error.
