im a old eq 1 player. i first started not long after it came out i sorta stumbled into everquest as it was a game at the time i didn't really have interest in at all! like most my age i was wrapped up FPS and the adrenaline rush that went with it. took while killing snakes, rats,bats galore , random exploring ,endless corpse recovery's before i saw that yeah this is a real challenge. over a looong time met a lotta people, made lotta good friends/memories like the elemental attack on freeport ! every mage for miles had to come and destroy the giant fire elemental that was attacking freeport,, selling bags junk in the ec tunnels , guards slaughtering tunnel sellers lmao , random griffin drop in's that made you always WATCH THE SKYS!! i hear eq has had many positive effects on many people lives for me i guess its to never take a gamble unless i know things are highly in my favor <watches the sky for the next griffin spawn> other thing i picked up from eq was that " if you wanna be good at something it'll take just little patience, but if you wanna master it you gotta put in every once of your soul " i used to remember people always swapping to char they needed for this or that, others outta boredom.

i played on lany'tl as Elementalist ! some might remember me as every friday night
i used to pop up to POK for what is known now in other games as a "drop party"
if the population was only 20 within 20-30 min it was at 100+ ! id run around dropping gems , money, items, summoned toys, weapon, gear , party items for lower levels just have fun ! i hope to meet old/new friends in game

Welcome Aboard. A Mage is a great class to play on here. Very little equipment needed, and just a lot of thought involved how to outsmart your Victim LoL. :cool:

My buddy rocked a mage for as long as I could remember. Great class from what I could tell. I myself was a warrior, lotta work but tons of fun.

really is a great class being able to give stuff to the pets and actually have those pets make uses of those items like armor, weapon with proc/without , other random goodies was basicly extra toppings , too some it might seem mages are tooo easy or really just solo class reality is it might appear so but you seriously gotta find the half way mark when your playing with a pet specially when things are designed that your some what dependent on said pet. playing only mage and then a conjuror in erq 2, i learned to use them as like a 3rd arm. what the limits for each single type as well as abilities and how to apply them to what ever i was working on or facing if you haven't tryed a mage give it a shot ! but remember no matter what happens at the end of the day always remember this " if the pets dies ,, you die " and if it looks bad after 10 sec in RUN lmao

compared to the way online gaming is now project1999 is a haven ! really missed community that exsisted in eq1 because now ? csgo, rust,, lotta other mmo's fps, survival its all kids! back stabbing/shooting little @%#$ without a once of humanity
