Hi there, just curious...

Can one person hold this entire camp? My druid is quite capable of taking on the entire camp and keeping it clear.

but just wondering is it legally one camp?

I never mind sharing, just curious if someone tries to claim they own the camp?

see thats why im asking, the if i can keep it clear might only apply to soemthing this small, as there are only 8-10 mobs here... i dont wanna step on anyones toes if a GM could give an answer that would be great

Hes not talking about a whole zone hes talking about one part of a zone. More like if I can keep the whole castle in crushbone cleared can I keep it.

Remember just because you CAN doesnt mean you should. People on live seemed to be less cutthroat and greedy than here lol. Sharing is caring! Keep that classic eq feel alive!

Let those people who need groups to level and are not high enuf for velks/kael have some fun at the mini giant fort for a bit.

Can't you spare some frost giant toes and heads for a poor mid-level druid, please!

I think it would be fine to kill everything in there by yourself so long as no one else is there. Kind of like how stretching out across a whole row of seats on the subway or at the airport is only okay so long as no one else is around who needs to sit.

I have this exact mentality.

What I want to know is. .. what about the other guy, I just want to know my rights, can he petition to say is his camp and I'm ksing? Do I have every right to just keep pulling casually and force him to share? Has anyone got a similar scenario to know what would/could happen?

it should be fine if no one around. But if a lower level group want, both of you can work it out. Assuming you get little or no exp from the kills.

Lol I don't think people are reading my post(s)

I am always happy to share, but let's say that group comes in and tries to say it's their camp and they want all the mobs, are the rules that we have tk share? Or do I get it because I was their first? Or do they get it because they are a group and rightfully they should have it.

I know most of the time it can be worked out but what about when it can't, that's why we have rules and I just would like to know where I stand so I don't get suspended or banned.

i always say if its ~8 mobs or so then it should be one camp, but i guess it really depends on the area. i know the giant fort in WW usually cant be claimed as one camp. hell, i couldn't even get the gnoll spires outside split paw... people seem to think that a camp is 2 mobs there, which is ridiculous to me. honestly i would just take them all and keep trying to get hold them all down for as long as u can

GMs are non responsive and busy. They won't answer here and they likely won't stop anything in game.

imo if you are keeping the whole camp clear its yours. However, technically its in an outdoor zone, so a "camp" is a single spawn you can sit on top and groups can force you to pick a spawn point. However, you can turn this back on them and force their entire group to pick a spawn point. Which then comes down to the play nice (PNP)...if you are getting exp and are keeping it clear and was there first, they should find another camp of un-contested mobs.

this is ur best answer, he's rights. its outdoor so you can only claim 1 spawn point, but same goes for them.

That only applies for roaming stuff. Static spawns are campable. KC, Crushbone, Mistmoore, CoM are outdoor zones too...

You're wrong. Static spawns are not campable. Braknar has made this clear to me several times.

TL;DR: Giant Fort is a camp. 1 person or 1 group, w/e. If they keep it clear, it's theirs.

After quadding static outdoor spawns for 15+ levels, Braknar has told me a few times (after petitioning) that they are not campable. They belong to whoever can engage first, regardless if you are sitting on top of them

you're not going to get suspended or banned, worst case a guides gonna send a tell warning you to stop taking their mobs. I would think it's like the giant fort in WW, dudes can't claim the entire thing for themselves.

Read the play nice rules and live by them. If someone steps on your toes;

1. /tell them and hopefully the conversation will go well and there will be resolution.

2. /petition if 1 fails.

If everyone just played nice, then we wouldn't have issues on this server. Also, just because you are 'camping' a area with spawns, doesn't mean EVERY spawn is yours. Sometimes you need to specify you are camping (named spawn) and then you can just pull the stuff around too. Again, just talk to people first and see if you can come to a resolution.

1.1 resort to name-calling when politeness doesn't work and quickly devolve to their level of class
1.2 try to KS them and fail
1.3 take screenshots showing biased conversation
1.4 post in RnF and try to garner sympathy
1.5 get defensive when thread backfires and people point out that the other party wasn't breaking any rules

2 petition and act innocent

Awesome, so I can tag all the mobs I want and I can leave some for the stragglers :) lol I'm just kidding, good to know though that it becomes an FTE fest at that point.

Thanks for all comments guys I finally get it.

How could a static spawn NOT be campable? That doesn't make any sense.

seafuries in OOT are not campable even though it's quite easy to keep the entire island clear. FTE without logic or reason RIP Dolj

Was like this on live... Every gnoll spire in SK had a group pulling. When velious dropped every rygorr room in Eastern waste had a group in there killing. and everyone stuck to the mobs only in that room.

I remember the goblins in Highkeep were like this also there would be multiple groups in the various rooms down there not just one group getting all mobs.

spirocs in TD, giants in fort at WW and FM, Seafuries

basically same thing but you dont generally see peopel claiming individual spawns at those places

like i said earlier. there are plenty of giants around, it;s not hard to find them. anyone that tries rules lawyering on this really need to take a step back and think about how petty they are being

I agree with this person. There is no real loot worth a crap in there. Why would you take a area that is really for like level 28 to 34ish groups and hog it as say a level 45 Druid?? Christ!! :(

Go some place where there is a challenge , not Sissy Boy stuff. :o Take on a Single mob that probably will kill, you not some Greens.

I play casually now on my 58 druid, and i want to be able to sit semi afk tabbed out whilst farming giant heads and toes for my shawl 1 and 2, it's also right next to turf so I can off sell loot, get to the bank and also get C and port people around when the camp is clear.

Just wanted to know the rights to camp similarly set up to this, as it is very similar to a lot of camps in velious.

Thanks!

People have been waiting for 4 freaking years for Velious to come out!!!! I have 2 toons I have been holding at like high 20's for years, and you want to sit there as a F'ing 58 Druid and throw me and others level 30 under the bus for a Goddamn Shawl!! Really!!

Buy the damn Heads and Toes cheap ass. :(

Tell me please at which point I said I wouldn't share.

I was there last night and I happily took the stragglers and helped a group out to break the 2 guards in the middle room... then I buffed them and told them to yell out if they needed my help

This is the mentality I was talking about...

Webrunner here just assumes that I'm going to kite the whole camp and runs around constantly FTEing every mob in sight...

I'm glad I started this thread, at least I know I can force people to share camps like this

That means you were trying to claim 4 separate static mobs at once? The ruling makes sense.
