"New" player saying hello!

Heya folks!

I recently decided to check out EverQuest as I remember it from the "good 'ole days" of 1999-2005. I played quite a lot, as Ninara (Cleric) and Xung (Monk) back on Mith Marr.

I just created my first character on the Project1999 PVE server: Sayaleth (Ranger). I look forward to seeing you fine folks online!

Classic is awesome. I was stupid and have a corps recovery to do. Minutes after I post about it here someone gives me a loc of my corpse. Nice community!

I didn't really realize what I was getting into with the Ranger... 40% XP penalty? I must have played in ignorance of such things back in the day! I have stuck with it so far though, just hit level four recently (aww yeah...). I have to say, Tracking is awesome! Almost makes it worth it?

The community has been great! People are always willing to group up around Orc Hill and some generous folks have been helping out us newbies with gear. Special shout out to Galadin (I think?) for the full sets of rawhide armor he has been handing out. Thank you!

I look forward to playing more, even though it draws glances of "you must be crazy" from my spouse. :)

40% Penalty will drop hopefully after Velious comes out a couple of months into it. :cool:

Stick it out. They get Fear Animal at 22 in Velious. :cool: A game breaker for them. And Tracking will be even a bigger deal in Velious. Some zones are just Huge in it. :eek:
