Have a question about this feature. I click the button that says hide my helm and it works. But every time I zone it show again. Is there anyway to edit the config settings so you don't have to manually do this every time you switch zones or log.
Looked through the config file but didn't see a particular setting.
Thanks!
This is not a classic feature, and is disabled on P99. It may look hidden to you, but everyone else can see it

It doesn't work. You cannot hide your helm. It's a UI feature from later in the time line, and that's why it's in the UI, but it actually only hides your helm on your client. Everybody else can see it. It resets when you zone because it's not real. It never will be.
Ah, I didn't realise that. Now, a wisdom item without helm graphic. Hmmm.

Crown of Leaves (http://wiki.project1999.com/Crown_of_Leaves) doesn't have a graphic.

Looking at the way the models are drawn, you might be able to remove all helms with a texture-replacement. They'd still be there and they'd still be displayed on the screen, just with an invisible texture. Has anyone tried doing that?

Technically, unless your UI looks like the above, you're experiencing a major advantage from non-classic graphics. Reskinning models to remove helms is still more classic than the obvious exploit which is the Titanium UI...

Next thing you'll be advocating for forcing character models to be humans by removing their source from your EQ directory...

I was just pointing out the absurdity of anyone caring what another player's screen is showing unless it has a gameplay effect. Who cares if your helm is visible to someone else or if they can see their character's long flowing hair and you can't?

Who cares if skeletons are displayed as humans on my screen? It only affects me. They still show up as skeletons to everybody else.

If that includes a name tag where there wouldn't usually be one, I care.

You do know you could hit f10 in classic and lose the whole outer gray part of UI right?

Apparently you missed the part about gameplay...

Can be done with a few small edits to binary data in global_chr.s3d and global4_chr.s3d, to change visibility flags for the relevant materials from the value for "normal" or "masked" (0x80000013 and 0x80000014) to the one for "non-rendered" (0 -- same thing invisible zone walls use).
Can't be very selective about which races' helms would be affected since they mostly share the same few textures (seems like leather are all the same bar iksar, for example).
