What do we reckon?
should be higher for first week or two? eg
iceclad- 50p
great divide- 75p
wakeningland 75
cob scar 100
that seem reasonable? I cant recall what they were back in the day....think i was getting guild ports, so minimal rates.
WL and CS should require much higher prices due to the real risk of death.

some of them require pre-reqs before you're able to be ported there i thought

You have to have a "Tooth of the <Zone>" in your inventory to port to said zone. Higher tier teeth cover the easier zones' tooth as well. i.e. "Tooth of the Wakening Lands" will let you port to the Great Divide and Wakening Lands, but not Cobalt Scar (which covers all of them). Iceclad doesn't require a tooth.
I don't see why you would charge any extra for porting to any Velious zones.. just because there is a bottleneck doesn't mean it takes any extra effort for the Druid/Wizard.. and Wyverns/Woushi are going to be perma camped for a long time.

I usually just take whatever people give me. Sometimes, that means nothing. Sometimes it's a lot.
They'll probably tip higher in the beginning because I expect a lot of porters to be occupied with experiencing "new" content for the first month or so, rather than taxiing people around.

I'm not porting or translocating anyone for less than 500p

I've never understood the different values for different ports. They all require same cast time and mana cost.
A DL Port -> Evac from KC I understand an increased value
A WL Port / CS Port can be dangerous if you aren't CoV factions -- Though on this server Wuoshi will be perma dead and kiters should keep CS pretty picked clean of drakes/wyverns.
Everything else though...

That's a risk I'm willing to take. Free ports all around!

On red people will pay that.

They should be the same as they are currently imo.
I don't list port prices, in the rare occassions I port for cash with my druid, I do it for donations. But if I did list prices, the price would be 50p for all locations. And it would remain so for velious ports.
There's zero chance of me dieing on a port to CS (lowbies might have a small risk) and even if Wuoshi is up, I can very probably live through landing on his head (If my passenger dies, that's his tough luck lol)
Pretty bold statement to think you can land on woushi's head and not eat a fear unless you're not kos

Pretty bold statement to assume Wuoshi will be un-aggroed longer than 30 seconds on this server.
*ESPECIALLY* in the first few months. 3-4 level 60 spells per kill and 1-2 BP/Leg gems, is more valuable than his entire loot table lol.
I'm going to be best friends with all the dragons in Velious! /new expansion resolution

I'll have the start a movement for a woushi non aggression agreement so we can keep you druids on your toes

You can die porting into Iceclad! So porting is not going to be any way as easy as we have now. :( 100 plat or go home. :p

My only concern with this topic is that you please, PLEASE do not state the cost as a tip, or "for tips". If payment is required, I am not tipping, I am making a business transaction.

But then people can't pretend porting is some glorious player interaction and the loss of it due to PoK books or Luclin spires killed the game!!!

A tip is a "compensation for service provided" transaction with the amount at the discretion of the person providing the tip. It's a degrading and ethically questionable mechanism, just like most other "business transactions", but it's an entirely reasonable use of the word.
"Donation", on the other hand, is absurd and inappropriate.

If someone just saved you a long trip, who cares whether he's using the English language appropriately or not? Just give the guy something.
"Grammarian" is not a class in this game.

Well stated. Tip is more appropriate. Since there is really no set cost, it is like a restaurant. Tip what you want, not the so so 15, 20%.:D

The server should prepare for some tip inflation when it comes to ports.
There's a ton of plat floating around on the server and the "accepted" tip these days is 50pp. This will go up.
It will also be revenge of the Druids and Wizards for constantly getting shit for not being an Iksar Monk and not being let into groups and all the other BS we deal with from the "bro culture" on this server. If you want a ride to Velious "you gotta pay the troll's toll" lol
This will especially be the case for Translocates. You won't get a boot if you don't pay first. I fully intend on just saying "no" to people wearing certain guild tags or saying something like "sure I'll boot you, 500pp guy." I will continue extend my benevolence to true nubs.
Don't be surprised if you ask a Wiz for Translocate and you get a straight "no." Revenge of the nerds rofl

'Quoted for the truth' I think the phrase is. I fully expect a few 'Dial a Port' type indivuals posting up their wizards in certain high-traffic zones in some kind of awesome network of easy-access Translocates, but if you wanna use that network? Troll toll.

Touche! I very well may have used the words interchangeably by mistake.
