What is going on with this game. The website gives no indication of how the game is coming along just a bunch of landmark crap. Is this game vaporware now?

I've been trolling their YouTube vids pretty hard... all they seem to release is "oooh, look at this building someone made" videos.

I think it's as good as vaporware with H1Z1, EQ progression servers, and other projects doing well. They don't need to rely on it, and with no gameplay footage released in over a year...don't expect anything now, I doubt it's profitable anymore and a bunch of redundancies happened a while back affecting its development.

This is their most recent vid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1cihcO5mp0c

When is this game coming out? I'm fucking tired of waiting. Are you going to release this game 5 years later? No one gonna play this game then. This game already dead before its release.

Dear Daybreak Games. I'm pretty sure 99% of us EverQuest fanboi's and lovers don't care about Landmark. The only care for landmark from me is the fact that it gives some sort of insight into the progress of EQN.

I honestly don't think eqn was ever supposed to release. I think it was a big marketing scam to get people hyped about SOE again so they could get their stock up and sell out.

Totally agree. And in hindsight, why did we ever believe otherwise? What sort of progress have we seen with "storybricks" aka the ruling concept behind EQN?

All I know is we can dig into the ground and build shit. Some MMORPG....

It was a failure from the beginning.

I saw one of their promotional videos, all in which can be found on Youtube, and they were showing off their 'ever changing' environment and explaining how it worked.

Sounded actually lame when you thought about what they were saying and how they were implementing it.

Also, the first time I saw the game play of the warrior or whatever it was. It looked just like WoW. That was a huge turn off for me.

Someone spent millions to get it where it is now, and it is all lost imo.

they didnt spend much, they made a minecraft clone and then sold early access ( for like 40 bucks at the entry level then later on for 20 when people were starting to catch on through steam) so all they really invested was the initial minecraft game, the rest is probably paid for by fans.

A person would have to be unimaginably stupid to buy a SOE product on early access.

Great griefing potential, love it.

I remember dying to 2 guys while looting a house one time. Didn't click to respawn, they were just hanging around for too long so I said "I see you two in that house, tell me why I shouldn't shoot you right now?"

They didn't twig that I was the dead guy they'd just killed and started looking around out of the windows to see where this mystery sniper was... kept that going for about 5 minutes, making threats and keeping them there before telling them I was the dead guy. Funny shit ;)

I play Landmark enjoyed it so far

As to Eq Next they are using Landmark to develop game component of EQ Next. This is the goal now for Landmark Now. This was posted in the landmark forums. Landmark will continue to be a building game but a lot of stuff for Eq Next will be tested there.

Everquest Next is most likely never going to come out and if it does it's going to be a hollowed shell of what they first told us in the beginning. I've looked at their discussion panels and I've watched those little brainstorm sessions they video taped after all the polls they did and it does not look promising.

Case in point being how they're opposed to different cities for the different races on the grounds that it does not allow for a comprehensive tutorial experience. Like what the fuck kind of shit is that? Immediately, right there you already have the design philosophy that it's okay to sacrifice immersion for a lowered barrier of entry. I mean I understand WHY they're doing it but it's not at all what made EQ1 great like they seem to be spouting off. All their fucking ideas of what EQ1's greatness is comes from post OoW for fuck sake.

They haven't even logged into their EQ Next youtube channel in 2 weeks. What are they doing all day if they're full time working on it?

I like soccer. I like eatting pizza.

So I want to play soccer, but have to build a pizza I can eat.... so I can play soccer. Makes sense....right?

I like Minecraft. I like EQ. Does it make sense to combine it? No.

They are trying way to hard, to combine what is cool, what is current and hip... it's gunna fail unfortunately. They have pay to win and subscription models in their heads, clouding their eyes. It's obvious they have lost touch with the fan base that helped build SoE (now Daybreak).

Re: H1Z1, love the game. The engine is a tease for what EQN could have been. Instead they went with a cartoon/WoW colour palette. I'm worried when H1Z1 goes live, the pay to play model will kill the game. BR's will not be free to play, you have to buy tickets (or find/trade for them).

For me BR's are only the icing on the cake in H1Z1.

Yeah I took a break for a few months and came back to much more regular BRs (rather than sitting on server select and hoping I clicked in time when it popped), more slots to wear stuff in, more items generally, looks like the pistol range has been expanded, female character models and more face choices.

Base doors are still easy to pick off though arent they?

They have Talmud on the brain and always have. And wasn't the fan base "that built SOE" really purchased by the SOE juden in the first place to be milked for decades?
