The upgrade begins!

http://wiki.project1999.com/Ranger/Spells

I've made ClassSpellTable, Spellpagesmart and supporting templates generic so in theory these templates can be rolled out across all classes!

Documentation can be found here:
http://wiki.project1999.com/Template:ClassSpellTable

Once Ranger/Spells has been completed it's as simple as deleting the spells from the /Ranger page and replacing them with
=Spells=
{{:Ranger/Spells}}

And then crossing your fingers! (I think there's an issue with "Max number of Templates" per page)

Hmm yeah, leave it alone please.

Ignore Cecily. He hates everything.

Neat spell order, I look forward to seeing it complete.

It's less informative and looks worse.

It shows spell icon as well as actual values for many aspects of spells that the tables in the class section of the wiki do not show. As well as showing location where the spells are sold.

Less informative... Wat?

Spell locations are listed on the spell's page in a better format. "Vendor" "NPC Drop" etc suffice. Spell icons are unnecessary and take up more space. It takes longer to scroll through and less information fits on the page at once. Less informative. It's a downgrade. Feel don't waste your time.

If you can shrink the icons to fit the original list and maintain the old format, go ahead. Otherwise it's getting reverted.

I think it looks better and is more informative. Vendor, NPC drop don't say what zone to look for it in. He helps to narrow that down. On top of which he gives the values for each spell. The only thing about the original is that it's more condensed which I really could care less if I have to scroll down a bit more. You have to do that anyway.

Nice job Ezri. Keep it up.

it looks quite nice, and scrolling is part of the interwebz so get used to it

Looks great. Spell icons may be a little big and the "Spell Name" column could be more narrow, but other than that it's a lot better than the original list.

Ignore Cecily's whining.

IMO, swap the Location and Mana fields?

ezri
07-08-2015, 01:36 PM
Zeemx - this page is shared with bards that display different fields, so the order of the fields is currently just a draft - I was thinking to move mana and shuffle everything else along, but I have not got to the table sensitive column widths yet but its on my todo list.

It's less informative and looks worse.

Is it worse, or do you just not like change?

Imo worse.

Maybe move "Mana" column to be in between "Spell Description" and "Locations"? Keeps stat oriented info closer

I have a question actually:
With regards to Target_Type - what's the difference between Group v1 and Group v2? Is this information useful or can we change it to "Party" ?

Great work - keep it up!

All done...

http://wiki.project1999.com/Ranger/Spells

Can someone check them through before they get stuck into the main page?
I found on the bard page I'd put the 50+ songs as Classic rather than Kunark, no one picked it up. I only realised after I'd finished the Ranger spells and checked I'd not broken the bard songs - so it's worth a glance over :)

Thanks.

Sorry Cecily you're out voted :)

Cecily is saved!!!

- I couldn't get the spells to work because of the same problems I had on the bard page - those #lsth: includes for gearing and quests really mess up the page; so I'm going through and turning them into sub-page includes - hopefully this will makes things run more smoothly.

I'm pretty sure the problem is coming from the "Gearing" section - I've tried to update some of those sections (there are outdated links for the bard) and those pages would not save; so I'm pretty sure this is the cause of the saving page problems.

Since doing an overhaul of gearing will take a while I've put the spells update on hold in the mean time.
Thanks.

This ain't RnF, lay off the insults.

Opinions differ, especially opinions about aesthetics, this is not surprising.

Imo worse.

/note to self. Dont ask Cecily's opinion on anything because obviously his taste is horrible :D Nice job on the work. More scrolling but looks nice. Myself and my mouse wheel can live with it :)

Fantastic.

Invigor is the SoW icon though, not an eye/divination icon.

Thanks Taruk - it imports the spell icon from the main page (which must have been wrong). Edit the main page it'll update it in the table; part of the revamp. Hax magic =D

Edit: I've updated invigor.
