Top 10 Velious cash camps

Sirens Grotto - Shimmering Sea Spirits/the entire zone
Velk's Lab - Frenzy spiders for silver chitin handwraps, Kobold pit for lute and crown.
Kael - Keldor (Orb of the Infinite Void), Yetarr (Coldain skin gear)
Crystal Caverns - perma-camped on live for Velium blocks, quest gems and silk, also for gate potion mats.
Icewell - duders for Coldain skin gear quest
Wakening lands - Elder beads (duh)
Eastern Wastes - Lodi (duh)
Dragon Necropolis - Zlandi heart and tradeable ST key
All of PoM


..that's as far as I can get. The only ones I can see being locked down like CoS/Tranix crown are Lodi, Keldor and Elder beads camp.

Velks, Wuoshi, Vindi etc wont be mega camped...plus there is 1 top tier raiding guild now and many targets. They wont be able to be killing Aaryonar and have time to down statue if it pops.

I guess I would be inclined to say that PoG/Dwarf stuff (roughly equivalent) is a moderate upgrade over Kunark, and then Dragon/Giant stuff (roughly equivalent) is a moderate upgrade over that. Unless you rolled an Iksar warrior; in that case you upgrading vs Trooper Scale intended for L30-40.

But basically, I think for the first time the raid gear is going to actually matter. In Kunark, a Class R tank is missing exactly two slots vs a Class C tank: Crown of Rile vs SSB, and BotBDE vs Sword of the Shissar. Congratulations, you have 5400 HP vs 5300 HP, and it doesn't matter anyway because the fight lasts 25 seconds. Or a Class R Cleric is missing 2 PD slots vs a Class C one, and has 200 fewer mana. It does not matter. But in Velious, if you stack NToV stuff it'll be like +500 mana/HP and a lot of resists as well vs people that only have quest armor, and the encounters will last longer, so not everyone will be able to Prayers/wort pot their way through.

PoG and Thurg are identical im pretty sure and I'd use Skyshrine over Kael armor consider how AC isn't fully working here.

The best thing about Thurg/Pog Kael/SS armor is the spread of resist stats. You can accumulate a good resist set without sacrificing hp/ac/mana like you had to in kunark.

Any consensus on Kael versus Skyshrine? People seemed to think it was a toss up on Live, but I can't imagine a game this min/maxed hasn't decided which is the better set. Since it's going to cost my firstborn, I'd like to make the right choice.

Hilarious and true, it seems Bloobz want to do everything EXCEPT kill mobs.

I still put money on way more poopsocking and voice chat ego stroking circlejerks rather than people locking down cash camps in remote dungeons.

The Dragon Giant Dwarf PoG quests are decent enough upgrades, especially if you're not a melee class. The crazy NToV drops everyone has their tightey whiteys in a bunch about have been claimed for a long time, and seeing how every zerg will be competing for them, its going to be very few drops for a lot of hungry folks.

The question is - do you want to play Velious, or do you want to poopsock Velious. If you're lips aren't already affixed to a certain few players' e-peens and nutsacks, forget about any All/All +25 to everything gear. That stuff has been claimed for a very long time.

Hey guys, about Harla Dar: it was a while ago but I remember she was the only dragon I could solo as a 60 Bard, by Charm Kiting and suiciding wildlife onto her to whittle her down.

I thought the unique aspect about her (compared to the other WW Dragons) was that she couldn't summon, but now I'm thinking it might be that she didn't have a Disenchant AE, like all the others have, which messes up bards unless you can keep up a garbage buff in the top slot of your Charm constantly. It could have been that.

To counter summoning while charm kiting, you only need to be able to recharm a pet within the 6 second summon tick and sick it back in the mob, then heal, with song and the bard kunark bp click, between charm drops. You also need to be proactive and find a new pet before your existing one dies, and kite it around somewhere away from HD (but not too far). I would usually gather up as many as I could find and kite them around an area where, when I was summoned and stunned, the animals wouldn't all come and murdilate me, but I still had easy access to Charm one. You won't be summoned as long as your pet (or anything other than you, really) keeps agro.
