Back when I played in Original EQ, there was a way I could save the spells i had memorized and reload those sets with a single command. Like after a death.

Anyone remember how to do that?

Try right-clicking on the spell bar. Should bring up a menu with an option to save or load spell sets.

That feature was introduced beyond the timeline of this project.

I actually don't remember when spell sets were introduced, though I remember people using them sometimes. I guess it must have come after Luclin.

The menu options do show up in P99, though.

The menu options show up because they could not be removed. But the functionality has been blocked. Spell sets are not classic.

You know, the whole not classic thing is something I really don't get. I understand keeping the difficulty what is was when it first came out along with the original fights and anything that serves to make this stuff trivial but when it comes to small things like this that have nothing to do at all with fights or anything like that and not changing it I just don't understand. To me it's the same as a person bringing a sword to warand saying that guns aren't classic. There comes a time when I wander is purple like punishing themselves in the name of "classic".

P99 is not like a war; it's like a RenFaire. You don't bring guns to it.

Unless your "that guy". Don't be "that guy".

I suppose that also goes for the /usecenterscreen command.

I used to use that mapped to a key to open doors and tradeskill containers.

Spellsets as a feature are definitely a "difficulty modifier" in my eyes. Sure it's probably nothing more than an annoyance when buffing, but when stuff gets real and you have to load up an emergency spell, spellsets would trivialize it quite a bit.

Biggest reason I don't play a shaman. I played live and grew lazy being able to save my spell sets.

This server aims to recreate classic the best it can, where it can. If they caved to every little request, eventually every feature and expansion would be available (aka live). Just enjoy the game for what it is. Some things like newer models and textures slip by, but they don't give an advantage whereas one could argue spell sets very much add an advantage.

eh more of a convience than a "difficulty modifier." you should have your oh shit spells up at all times. i only miss spell slot saves for loading up buffs, especially a shaman/druid who can fill a whole spell bar with buffs.
