Hi EQ pals,

What is the minimum level you need to be to turn in the corrupted animal parts ? I turned 3 of them in after I cleansed Antonia of these foul beasts and it ate my quest items :( The treant in NK did talk to me and tell me exactly what to do which is what confused me

30s and amiably. again the quest NPC talked to me, so typuaclly with epics that means you are good to go

Level 1. As is classic. No quest should check level in this era.

You either:

Turned in wrong pieces
Turned into wrong NPC

I'm assuming the later. Did you turn into the Withered Treant? If yes, are you sure you turned in the right Water Flask icon, did you maybe turn in the Faydedar pod instead? Or perhaps barracuda water? There are 3 corrupted pieces that share identical item icons and all have similar names... Is it possible you turned in the wrong piece, and still have the Rathetear lake water banked?

The corrupted shaman piece from lake Rathetear is the Clean Lakewater.
The corrupted barracuda piece from LoIO is the Pure Lakewater.

Sirken is going to hopefully refund me, but my reason for this post is I want to know why the NPC ate my quest items so I don't do the turn in again and have it poof.


The NPC said exactly this when I turned it in "You are not powerful enough to complete this task, return to me when you have gained more experience"
So is this quest messed up where it is not letting me, even though there are no level checks on R99???
Anyone who knows why this got messed up please let me know!!!

Should be 0 level checks on any quest turnins until Velious. Even then, the only quests I know of which had level checks were the PoGrowth quests, which required level 55.

I'm fairly confident these turnins can be done at indifferent faction as well, so sneak or invis should be fine.

Sounds to me like this is a bug and the game is requiring level 46 or 50 for the turnin to be accepted, which is false.

No, we discovered the problem. He turned in Clean Lakewater. Should be Pure Lakewater.

Yeah Pure Lakewater is for Kunark turn in.

Are you sure that's the message it gave you on turn in? Do you have logs?

***I am assuming that the NPCs for the corrupted pieces are indeed doing level checks which isn't supposed to be on this classic server.

any other thoughts or should I take this to the development forum and report as bug ? or someone else catch something out of place?

I would make a bug post, as far as I know none of the epics should have level requirements outside of the ones that have planar turn ins.

Why would apprehensive matter? The npc talks to me and gives me the quest to go get the items. If it was a faction problem he wouldn't give the quest

Not always, the shaman epic has different faction for talking to and turning in at some parts.

But the message you got seems to point to not being high enough level.

I had thought possibly your faction was insufficient. That's the reason I asked for logs - to see what you conned. The fact that he talks to you does not necessarily indicate that you have sufficient faction to do the turn in successfully.

If you were apprehensive that is most likely the problem as I believe that it requires indifferent.

Fortunately these are only the Antonica parts, pretty easy to replace, so I'd just do it again and make sure you're at least indifferent.

I guess I am trying to get a definite answer because I want to turn in my others and then the final epic. Don't want that getting eaten too!

Per the Wiki, Im not sure if you have or haven't done any of these...

First off, know this, if you have done any of the following:


Participated with any battle in the Plane of Growth
Killed the Millers in Qeynos Hills
Killed Holly Windstalker in Qeynos Hills
Killed Druids at a druid circle
Killed Treants

Then you will most likely have faction issues to correct in order to complete the epic. It's tedious, but it can be done.



Also it states on the wiki for the other parts that you have to be 50+ ( tellin darkforest ) and

Find a pained unicorn wandering in the Lesser Faydark north of 0, 0.
NOTE: the unicorn will not respond to you or take any items from you until you are at least level 46.

So maybe the tree checked your level just like the unicorn does?

ok so you are telling me I did nothing wrong and the quest is bugged? it shouldn't be checking level

I'm pretty sure it failed due to lack of faction, the message attached is just misleading.

Withered Treant is on True Spirit faction. I believe being apprehensive to them at character creation is completely normal without killing anything. IIRC I had to open the trade window then hide to complete it (sorry that doesn't work any more) after failing the first time myself.

Raising True spirit from apprehensive to indifferent is easy if you have someone to charm a lesser spirit for you. You can spawn a lesser spirit in any of several zones (see the shaman epic) but Butcherblock is easy for a druid. In BB kill peg leg and a true spirit will spawn. He will not talk to you because you are apprehensive, but if an enchanter, bard or puppet strings owner is handy they can charm it and it will then talk to you. Say the lines listed under shaman epic writeup and you get a tiny gem which you then turn in to Bondl Felligan in NFP. (Bind there to make it easy).

Peg leg repops every 6 minutes so you can repeat this fast. If you bind in NFP you can even visit the lesser spirit a 2nd time before it despawns if you're quick. Do this 3-5 times and you will be indifferent.

Is it me, or are you halfling in that screen shot? Try turning on sneak and handing in the items while in the rear cone of the mob.

again - we are trying to figure out WHY (For SURE) that this failed. i don't want to wolf form or sneak and become indiff...then turn in and it poof again because its a level problem

My confidence level is fairly high but not maxxed.

I'd look at it this way if it were me. Do I have ALL the pieces to finish?

If you're still lacking the VS stone and/or Faydedar pod then I'd wait for more info - petition again and try for a better answer from Eunomia cause you DID turn in the correct pieces and her answer was blatantly wrong.

But if you have all the pieces (and if you say yes in your 30s to this after as long as I waited to get them off VS I am going to cry) then frankly you'll have your epic faster by raising your faction and trying again asap. You might duplicate effort but waiting for the GM's to answer or refund on a quest petition when you have all the pieces burning a hole in you bags is tough and worth the risk of another lost turn-in of minor pieces.

The only concern which is prob a hassle for the devs is.... Is tihis portion of the quest is checking level does the pained Unicom and the other turn ins past this point aswell or is just the treat bugged? Damn Druids being so difficult!! But come Velious the brown bear makes it all worth keeping us around!!

I reached level 46 and the turns in worked fine. anyone doing it before 46 wait until this is corrected by devs. has nothing to do with faction
