View Full Version : Is there a place where I can view the upcoming Velious gear?

I'm bringing up an Iksar Necromancer and I'd like to have an idea what to expect and plan for. I don't want to hold onto an expensive item now to have it be completely replaced as soon as Velious hits.
I checked the Wiki but it's completely blank. Some items that come to mind are the Velious +HP/MP jewelry that replaces the black sapphire stuff and Zlandicar's Heart.
Is there a list somewhere?
Thanks so much in advance!

The wiki is quite filled out...
http://wiki.project1999.com/Category:Necromancer_Equipment
Click on any slot and it will list all the Classic/Kunark items. If you want to add Velious items click on the "All Eras" link at the top of the page and it will add Velious items to the spreadsheet.
What Velious HP/Mana Jewelry? There's a 65 HP/Mana Neck (Velium Black Sapphire), but that's useless compared to the Dragon Talismans.

I made this spreadsheet awhile ago for Velium Jewelry combines. The red are replacement resist gear pieces (as that was my main focus). Beyond Blue Diamond gear being added though. It's very small/incremental increases over existing items. There aren't any better HP/Mana ears for example.
Honestly, not much will drop price in Velious. Only the highest end items will because they are no longer best in slot.

Ahh, I never noticed the "all era's" section at the topic so that's why I never saw Velious gear. Thank you! I knew in my heart it had to exist on the wiki somewhere!
I was referring to the velium black sapphire. I wasn't sure if there was better droppable jewelry but it sounds like there is. I have to do lots of research now that I can see Velious gear.
Thanks for the advice on some of the price drops, too. Cheers!

I'd hold off buying a lot of things, particularly on a necromancer who is best equipped to level 'naked' or close to it.
If you want to inflation proof your plat haul, things like fungi tunics will likely hold their value versus the amount of plat swimming around the server.
I'm no fat cat though and hate the economy side of the game...maybe the hardcore EC economists can offer some particular advice on int/HP/sta items.
More than likely you'll hit your stat caps in Velious gear eventually anyway.

People think WAY too much about the economy here. Really, not much is going to drop in price because of Velious.
Dragon Talismans will drop most neck items - Keep in mind though you need to have a CS key and this will take months for some people, plus you have to be able to kill the dragons and they have a two hour respawn or so?
Orc Fang Earrings will drop the Diamondine Earring price a bit
Some Velium Jewelry pieces are the same slot with marginally better stats than their platinum counterparts. Diamond, Jacinth, Ruby, Sapphire and Fire Opal all get minor bumps. The platinum ones will be worth less since they aren't the "best" anymore, but they will still have their a decent chunk of their value. Most will vendor for like 50% of their street value right now anyways.
High End stuff. Things like Torbrins, VS Legs, Trak BPs, Fingerbone Hoop will drop in price as they aren't the best in those slots anymore (certain VS Legs and Trak BPs will retain value due to clicky, see which are useful... Plus they remain best tradeable think options)
Haste like FBSS/Sash of Dragonborn replaced by Silver Chitin Gauntlets (those sashes will still command 3-4k easy I think)
But really, no one should be worrying about selling off their current gear because it will be worth 10% of what it is now. Cause that won't happen.

I didn't play too much in Velious. Which zones will require keys? I saw that there's a few tier's of questable armor in Veeshan's Peak and Kael but I'm unsure if groups can just walk into those.
When you say CS are you referring to Cobalt Scar? I thought that people could simply port there?
Very informative post on other items, Daldaen, thank you!

Cobalt Scar requires a key from killing a mob in Skyshrine (he will be permacamped) or by doing the quest from this same mob (need okay dragon faction to do this)
Sleeper's Tomb requires a key and is a raid zone
You need portal teeth (no drop ground spawned items) from Velious port rings to get ported places. For CS particularly, this means you need to have your tooth before you get ported there. Meaning you had to have zoned in with the key and picked up the tooth. So you can't bypass the key by getting a port. Which I'm sure plenty of people don't realize and won't until the ports leave them behind in August.
There are 5 armor sets for casters:
Kael- Drops from group able trash, required kindly Coldain (dwarf) faction + armor gems
EToV - Drops from mini raid trash, required max ally Dragon faction + armor gems
WToV - Drops from mini raid trash, requires max ally Giant faction + armor gems
PoGrowth/PoHate2.0 - Drops from trash in these raid zones. All classes get sets from PoGrowth except Paladin, Druid, and Ranger (whose sets come from PoHate 2.0 after 3 month planar revamp). These drop the complete pieces, you don't need any faction or armor gems
PoMischief - Long quests from PoMischief. Unlike the previous 4 sets, these don't have unlimited charge clickies. Making them less valuable in many situations. However they have some unique/good stats on certain pieces. (Only Monks get a set from here, no other melee do)
Kael and PoG/Hate armor share equivalent mediocre stats (many are inferior to current Kunark gear)
EToV/WToV have the better stats but require more faction and drops from level 60+ trash in a raid zone (BP/Legs are best in slot for many classes even with raid gear factored in)
The armor gems drop rarely from 40-50ish mobs. Wyverns, geonids, Velketor kobolds, dragon necropolis trash and sirens grotto trash are the primary locations these drop. For each armor quest you need 3 specific gems (always the same type). Some of these are exceptionally rare and I wouldn't be surprised if some run 10-20k a piece to start off with (specifically the BP gems which drop mainly from raid minis like wuoshi and kelorek, or very rarely from trash). With this in mind, PoGrowth is a solid alternative because it doesn't require any gems as the trash there drop completed armor pieces.

@Daldaen
That was an extremely useful post and will be a great resource for me going into Velious. Can't thank you enough!
Now to get some groups in Plane of Growth come August :D
Edit - I wonder which of the three factions I'll side with. Hmmm...

I wouldn't expect to see single groups clearing PoGrowth for some time.
That will be a 3-4 group sort of zone for most of Velious. But who knows, maybe people will be able to deal with the protectors and single pull trash effectively there.
Most people ally Dwarf+Dragon, through grouping in Kael. And when they get higher they usually drop dragon faction as they kill WW Dragons.
High End, raiders will end up being ally with Giants after clearing ToV and trashing that faction. But on this server people have enough 60s that they'll have different characters for each faction.

I actually wanted this for myself so I updated the wiki to include the menu for ALL ERAS.
