So...I signed up for my free Win10 upgrade with MS. It's going to be released soon.
Anyone try the free Beta Win 10 and run P99?

You'll be fine. Windows 10 isn't some alien warship out to destroy your old programs.

So far zero issues with EQ, P99, or WinEQ2.

No, but if Windows Vista was named Windows 6, they would have named Windows 7 something else entirely in order to distance itself.
Maybe it would have been called longhorn or whatever the beta was called ;p

Something about the 10130 update killed EQ's sound completely for me. Can't seem to find anyone else with this issue (sound works on every other game/app). Maybe it wasn't the update but something I did around the same time. Not sure.
I cannot seem to make any changes with the OptionsEditor.exe (http://puu.sh/izCrD/3fff4edb38.png) despite trying many compatibility modes and all that jazz.
^That's what the settings are every time I open it after trying to make changes. These settings are correct in my eqclient.ini (like Sound=TRUE (http://puu.sh/izCzv/ce5a9dba50.png)). I tried different audio devices. I'm driving myself crazy over this. EDIT: Tried WinEQ2 as well.

No gameplay issues with Windows 10 on a homebrew PC and boot camp on an Apple laptop while playing EQ (live or p99). I did notice that leaving the game client will crash to desktop once and awhile.. But it doesn't happen while actually playing so I don't worry much about it.

they would have released a windows 9 if they didn't have to re-release windows 8 (8.1) due to how shitty 8 was without a start bar.

MS went to Win10 because seven ate nine.

Same thing happened to me but in the newest build 10158. I even tried reinstalling dx9 June 2010 and that was no help.

its not windows 9 because of some conflicting code with windows 95 and 98.

Has anyone resolved the Windows 10 no sound issue yet? The only other thing I can think of is maybe run a virtual machine to get sound back?

I got my sound back with the update to 10158, it's still there in 10159 and 10162. Scared the crap out of me when I logged in after upgrading to 10158.

It looks like after the 10162 Build was release the sound issue has been corrected.
