I have been on for the past two days working on my DE Necro, Delvesh (Namesake from my past on live) and it has been so nice to be back in EQ. The level of respect and helpfulness of this community has been great. From my first ooc asking for a few gold to buy spells, that some kindly gave me 25pp, to the constant stream of buff from people running by, and the fact that people actually know and respect what a camp is in this game..... Its nice to be back.

Finally, thank you to the developers for putting this all together. I had a dream of getting my own classic emulator set up, but logging one with 1600 people is far better!

Welcome back!

Probably better to have posted here (http://www.project1999.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=71) - hopefully a Mod will see and move to the appropriate section.

Glad that you are enjoying your return to Norrath, as I've seen you a few times in Nektulos.

Your experience matches my own 3 weeks ago, although I managed to loot a couple of Cracked Staves to assist with early spell purchase. To buy my level 12th animation, after I bought the essential 12th level Chanter spells, I had to vendor a Small Sewing Kit (don't actually need to do any tailoring on my Chanter as Woven covers Raw Silk), and a couple of backpacks! Good thing vendors have deep pockets and for certain items, the spread isn't too bad if you need to resell.

At the lowbie levels, plat should be prioritised for spells [casters] and backpacks. Equipment can be tailored / blacksmithed. Once you level, the opportunities to make plat increases. In our level range, Greater Lightstones [GL] quest, Bandit Sashes, Deathfist Belts, Dev Camps / Rings / Bronze, plus gem drops from certain mobs (Cat's Eye Agate from Air Elementals in EC for example - however, Wisps are most certainly better). Plus, various quest turn-ins.

Don't forget to take a look at Guilds for that social experience. I like PUGS - although as have yet to group due to working on a few short-term goals, am now focused on grouping - but a decent Guild can transform one's playing experience if you crave that social aspect.

See you in-game!

Cheers!
