Guild Status / Politics - Returning Player

Saw the release of Velious in August, myself and a few friends are interested in playing again.

I'm curious as to what the current politics are like.

- Is there actually competition for raid targets, or is there just one super zergy guild that dominates them all?
- If not, how many raiding guilds are there?
- Do raid mobs still respawn on an exact timer, or is it now like live with the +/- X amount of hours.
- Are there any known entire guilds returning for Velious?

Also, non-guild related:

- I was told that resists were sorta fucked a few months ago. (Tash/Malo always landing even with insane MR, which allowed roots and even blinds to land easily afterwards), is this still the case?

OP: server is in a great place right now. Empire/formerly holocaust had been the "#1" guild here pve wise for quite some time (months on months) due to their zerg mentality/numbers. Bringing 80 members for gore with no competition is just insane. Thus 4 other guilds (the uprising if you will) combined into one (Good guys) just to have close to the same numbers. This guild is like 3 weeks old and has more dragons than any of the previous guilds combined in the past 8 months. Constant 20-30v30 pvp going on, and dragons usually end up 60v60 or so unless it's sunday night then much larger. There is no"bigger" zerg at this point, leave the trolls at home, empire does however have the levels and current gear advantage but we all know this can change especially given what's on the horizon.

TLDR it's basically a huge 2 guild server with a couple more on the radar. Pop has increased for the better, log in level a char see what guild suits you best.

you basically took your biggest boon(being able to split up and take smaller targets all at once) and eliminated it by consolidating into one blob that's way less organized/efficient than our blob is

yes, resists are in a good state if you are melee.

Wizards are capable of getting YT in PVP, but 1v1 once you leave the lower levels is heavily skewed towards melee, and specifically rogues/monks. This will only get worse in Velious when resists and melee damage rise, but caster damage remains mostly the same.

arguing that empire has more people is accurate; we have broken 100 people mark on numerous raids before we had competition, and i've seen one serverwide raidforce that varied from 110-130 people mostly sub 60s and barely matched our raid size.
