Server Wide General Chat

While playing, it can be very quiet in a zone (like BB for example), I could be all alone late at night and there's nobody to talk to.

I am new here so I am wondering is there a reason why general chat is disabled?

Appreciate any replies.

It was enabled when the population was very low (<200) and it is still enabled on Red I believe. But at this level of population global OOC would be unreadable due to volume. Even EC OOC can get bad sometimes.
I recommend joining a leveling guild if you're looking for people to group with and chat with.

Classic or not, i really miss a global chat, or several for that matter.

The biggest problem with global chats, is that they are bound to end up being used for trading, making EC as a trade hub less and less used.
Thereby making people hug less and less.

And as we all know, a person without hugs is a sad person.

I usually have some combination of Pandora or talk radio going in the background. I also have different twitch streams in the background on occasion for something to listen to / interact with while playing.

Or join any guild really; even a mid-sized guild should have plenty of guild chat to keep your chat window filled while you solo in remote places.

You can't create your own channels here or anything like that. Things like changing the color of auction/ooc/shout text is all in though if you don't like the default colors.

Nope, not classic and all that. It would disintegrate the tunnel population as people would turn to a global trade channel to list things while they camped more things.
