No music in game

It's been a while, and by a while I mean about 10 years since I played EQ but I could have sworn there was music playing in the background while you were exploring. I don't have any and I turned the option for music on in the options. Of course every time I go back to the options settings that is unchecked again but the outcome is the same. I have no music in game. Can someone help me please?

edit your eqclient file with notepad to turn on some of that stuff

also, a lot of times a setting not saved due to people not closing their client properly, hitting /exit instead of camping out fully, etc.

Try turning on environmental sounds. I know, seems wierd but when i did that my music came back.
