Hello All,

After re-rolling a few characters, I finally settled on a Troll Shadow Knight named Gronny as my main. I am only level 5 right now and leveling slowly due to my limited availability for playing. I also like adventuring, so I am in no rush to gain quickly. Luckily, I was able to get a few pieces of gear from people running by and from re-rolling a few times, and right now I have a 2h slasher that is 17/30, some assorted pieces of cloth, banded, and other random pieces of decent gear for starting and it's going great. I was wondering if I should plan to use 2 handers most of the time since I have the slam ability as a troll, or if it makes sense to save up for a 1h sword and board combo. Right now I am saving up for 5ac 55hp rings like most people suggest, but I do want to plan ahead. Let me know your thoughts. I am looking forward to playing with all you, and I love the community here!

Plan to try to keep all your weapon skills high. Although as an sk you can do more dps usually with a 2h, sometimes your dps will be pretty inconsequential in a group an you will want to use a shield for extra Ac and resists in order to tank better. Try to find alternate weapons within your budget and use them when you have a solid group and it won't hurt much to use a slightly worse weapon to keep skills up.

Solo - 2H
Group - 1H + Shield

Your dps is not great, so if you are in a group use the shield cuz you will probably be tanking. Solo, you need all the dps you can get.

Thank you. That's helpful advice! I ended up grabbing a 1h long sword off a guard someone killed, and now I'm going to skill it up.
