First of all, if you are lvl 35+ and interested in raiding in the immediate future, <Europa (https://www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66996)> is probably more to your liking.

Hello and welcome!

This guild was created to gather all the european players out there who are either struggling to find an active home, or generally unhappy being the only member online in their current guild during most of their online hours.

We aim to be a open, friendly leveling/social guild for casual players or players new to P99 and want to make grouping up / finding friends easier. Because of this we have no level requirement to join.

We do not aspire to be a raiding guild, in fact we will encourage our members that at later levels decide that they want to raid to apply to <Europa (https://www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66996)> and wish them all the best of luck.

As we are very freshly created we currently only have one recruiter, this will be added onto within the next couple of days.

Recruiters:
Gunkk

I'm not euro, but I do live/work a 3rd shift schedule due to work. Would this be acceptable? What time EST is prime for you guys to see if it even lines up with me.

Hi Gunkk,

Glad that you have the drive and commitment to actively make a change. I'd love to be a part and help out, although I have a few clarifications and an all too common limiter re: fiancée aggro management.

Clarifications:
- Guild Charter (purpose)
- Guild Values (values & behaviours)
- Guild Policies (don't be a douche)

I have a few reservations in the back of my mind. Namely, how to avoid becoming a "Recruit & Level" type guild, how to avoid a revolving door of new and exiting members, and setting up a karma system for helping other members i.e. need to put in before you can take out (help others e.g. groups, dungeon crawls, quests, etc).

Although the intention is to be a Europa feeder guild, I do hope that enough members stick around after 35+, so that the guild has a solid core of players. I wouldn't mind the occasional raid (to experience this side of the game - not fussed about drops), but my own interest and time commitments preclude me from a pure Raiding guild. Dungeon crawling with as few as possible, close to the zone level, preferably with little / no twinking is what it is all about for me.

Oh. Killing Halfling and Dwarf Guards - once I gain levels.

Cheers!

How the future of our all too casual raiding will play out is not easy to answer at this stage. Europa has offered to help us with some things and even let us tag along, but nothing more detailed than that has been set in stone, (and may never).
I honestly don't have enough spare time to administrate a few of the things you are suggesting, this guild was created to be a home for the socials (and a temporary place for the lvlers that wan't to raid). I had no more aspirations in mind than such, and knowing EQ enough, there are a lot of people that don't play for much more than that, or take months to level a character. Because of those things I believe that the guild will have a solid amount of members at any time.

The basic guildrules(posted on forum) and mumble server have been delayed slightly, I had planned on getting them done yesterday, but it seems the machine intended decided do act up and is now getting a fresh install, too much cluttered junk. I'll prolly have it up and running sometime this week. Work taking up some time as well.

As we grow and our place in the community solidifies what type of guild-events and what atmosphere can be expected will be much clearer. As of now we are mostly focused on not letting people experience this monolithic game alone, because that is by far the worst experience and does not do this guild justice.

Other details can for now, wait :)

Appreciate the response. I fully understand other considerations impacting upon your time, especially taking up the mantle to run a Guild, and to also find time to actually play without feeling as though you have a 2nd [unpaid] role every time you login.

I'll give you or Fimbul a yell in-game to join and get involved.

Cheers!

Joined this evening and spent a while chatting with Fimbul, then a bunch of Guild members who were on. It's refreshing to have the social element and player interdependence once more, especially because (a) all Euro players in similar time zones (no /logging at 03:00 in the morning), (b) mostly mid teens, and (c) un-twinked / lightly twinked.

This allows for grouping at the level range, with the ability to grow and level with each other, and get involved in quests, dungeon crawls, guild events, or simply chill on the /guild channel doing one's own thing.

Really looking forward to being able to group with some Guild members and becoming more involved.

Cheers!

Hi guys,

Sounds good with a nice leveling guild. I am a druid level 20 and would be interesting in joining in. Is it possible? :-)

Unfortunately, you can only edit guild thread posts for a limited time after posting. If you need it edited, you have to PM a forum admin. GL with your guild!

Hi Grot,

Quite a few of The Gathering are Swedes; hence, doubtful if the Guild was named after a bunch of LARPERS (could be wrong).

I have only attended a couple of LARP events in my entire life - first year at uni, almost 23 years ago! One noted event held in the wilds of Runcorn, saw my Necromancer arrive a little late (08:00 starts on a Saturday - never going to happen after Friday nights in clubs), to find the only available costume was a long fuchsia dress!

Arm-twisted into wearing said fuchsia dress, my overriding memory of the day were the cries of "KILL THE ONE IN THE PINK DRESS!", thereupon arm in arm with a female player, I was chased across the wilds of Runcorn by a bunch of armour-claded, sword wielding maniacs who were affronted by the sight of a Necromancer wearing a pink dress!

Oddly enough, I've never been tempted to roll up a Necro in EQ. However, my starter tunic for my Inkie Chanter is almost a full-on replica of that goddamn pink dress!

Hey,

I'm completely new to Everquest and P99. I haven't really played much besides getting lost in a city for a couple of hours and then killing some dwarven skeletons so I'm only lvl 2. Would you take someone as low lvl as I am in your guild?

Cheers /Spluffen (Dwarf Paladin)

Absolutely! As Gunkk mentioned in an earlier post, the Guild is a Euro based social / levelling guild catering for players who have a friendly disposition and wish to play with other like-minded players.

You are more than welcome to join, and to participate as much or as little as you want (although we hope that it will be the former).

We have just kicked off a Guild Static Group [GSP] as a first event so that Guild members of different levels [Mains] roll alts and group on fixed days and time-slots. We collectively reached a decision to roll Inkies and the first GSP kicked off Wednesday - with the next time-slot scheduled for Sunday 11:00 CET.

This allows players to continue with Mains, whilst also grouping with other members in the GSP. The fixed time slots for the GSP allows for a more casual playing style, and for RL considerations to take priority.

I'll ask one of the recruiters to keep an eye out for you.

You'll be in good company: Gunkk is Swedish, and there are a couple of other Swedish players. Also, a Finnish player, and a couple of UK players. We also have someone in Alaska!

Cheers!

Hi Kashyk,

Thank you for your interest in joining us! We'll try to arrange to get someone to meet up with you in game. As for the forum answer, I *believe* you can put SoV, (The) Scars of Velious, or just Velious.

Hope to see you soon.

Hello everyone :)
I'm here to inform you, The Gathering doesn't exist anymore. Most of active members reorganized and created new guild, <Valhalla>.
We accept new members of all races and classes. If you're interested, please apply for membership on our website http://www.valhalla1999.eu/blog/contact-us/, and one of the officers will contact you in game ASAP.
Good luck and stay warm :)
