Heard about this project through some chat on Kotaku, finally had the gumption and spare time to get it up and running this morning, and feel like old times again.

Started playing right before Kunark and heavy into Luclin, but Kunark and Velious were my favourite times for sure, mained a epic purple suit Cleric and alted a Barby warrior with a few friends for some RP action.

I am having a few issues if anyone can lend a hand, main problem is my running movement seems to be slower in the over all zones than say in Felwithe.

So i will be running full speed in Felwithe, than slow right down in the zone cave, still be slow in the Faydark, but speed up when i am up in Kelethin. Played around with various display settings, but nothing seems to change it.

Windowed mode is also affected so i play in full screen, 1024x768 (native resolution)

If anyone has some ideas id like to try them.

Either way its great to be back.

Has to be on your end. I have played on here for 5 years and NEVER had that problem?? Now a Few zones being Grey and you Can't move, that would be having to delete some files. Details in the Technical Forums section. No clue other than internet issues your end if that is not the cause.

Welcome Back. Hope you resolve your problem.

Internet won't be an issue, tried a few different characters in different zones and the problem is the same.

Checked technical, seems the fix is playing through WinEQ, but changes nothing on my end.

So not sure what the issue could be or any other fixes I could try.

It HAS to be your internet or your Files. 1,500 sort of happy people on here :p and no complaints like you seem to have.

WinEQ is a total memory hog as far as I am concerned. Sort of have to use it on Sleeper to 4 Box, I use a work around, but no need for WinEQ on here.

Thanx for all the help and welcomes so far, had a few more questions if someone has some ideas.

Items in my inventory, say a weapon or armor, whats the key stroke or mouse command to bring up a box with the item's information? Need to know what the stats are for upgrades hehe.

Finally, similar vein, is there a way to get spell information? I know my strike is a DD spell, my heal is a heal etc etc, but looking for damage ranges or buff stat upgrades.

1. Right click!

2. http://wiki.project1999.com/ contains basic information about every spell in the game, organized under class. The spells in game can also be right-clicked (not the spell gems, but the scrolls and also what's in your book) for basic info like name, casting skill, and mana usage. Beyond that you'll just have to use them to see what happens.

Ya ive been using the wiki for a lot of info, since its been 15 years since I played lol.

The right click doesn't seem to work, will have to check my settings as well, might something in there not clicked.

Right click may not work depending on your set-up. On my Mac laptop I have to use a two-finger click and hold down on the touchpad. The other method would be a ctrl-click for a one-button style mouse or touchpad. Otherwise it may just be a setting issue.

alt+left click will bring up the item info.

Spells do not have stats on them. They don't even have descriptions. So in-game, no; however there is a wiki. http://wiki.project1999.com/

See and I had the notion that spell descrips weren't in the game, that was some of the greatness of classic EQ, but was sure there was item pop ups.

Will try things when im on tonight.

Got everything working properly now, appreciate all the help.
Will be hanging around Orc hill if anyone needs the heals.

Use the wiki to look up spell info. Hold right click on a item to see its stats.

My suggestion is to not use WinEQ.

I am using a downloaded Titanium install. Using Daemon Tools to install each ISO file then when I was done I use the Druxa all in one installer and that has worked perfectly on at least 2 different desktop computer and 1 laptop. All running Windows 7 Ultimate.
