Velious Tradeskills

I have been looking on wiki and other resources for Velious tradeskill recipes. I know JC'ing gets some cool stuff but what about Blacksmithing?

Pottery=Velium Vapors(Thurg gate potion)
Tailoring=Shawl quest
Blacksmithing=Ring quest
Jewelcraft=Velium BD Bracelet
Baking=food and I believe is needed as supplemental for other quests above
Alchemy=unsure

Those are the big things I remember.

Tailoring adds the various armors.

Othmir/Holgresh for leather/casters
Arctic Wyvern for shamans
Haze Panther for Rogues
Black Panther for Monk
Tigerraptor for Ranger
Ice Burrower for Casters

Tinkering adds Gnomish Vanishing Device (5charge invis). Rechargeable with Mana Batteries + Toolbox. So buy one of these and a stack of 20 Mana Batteries, that's 105 Invis charges between two slots. You will need to carry a Deluxe Toolbox as a bag though to recharge. Very useful for monks and Clerics once Incarnadine BP nerf.

Baking/Brewing remain useless beyond the shawl quest.

Fletching also remains useless.

Pottery has Thurgadin Gate potion

Jewel crafting has new combines for every gem with Velium. Plus Blue Diamond combines are added for all metals 1 month in.

Smithing has nothing really

Other than bane weapons in Luclin, did blacksmithing get anything until the blue diamond stuff during PoP? I can't recall, I mostly quit blacksmithing on live after the great disappointing lie of cultural armor (my blacksmith was a HalfElf... "Hey Verant, cultural is NOT a synonym for racial you nitwits!").

Druid Scimitar for the Earring of Solstice quest.

And the revamped Cultural Armor. Had level reqs of 45 but some of the pieces were incredible. Namely the warrior Rallos Zek set.

A few racial cultural blacksmith armor get very nice upgrades. The new armor required blue diamonds to make and each armor piece had HP/ Mana on it along with stats. The rallos zek made by human cultural had the most HP.

I remember the blue diamond armor as PoP era, but even if my memory is incorrect there it was certainly no earlier than Luclin as it requires components that were introduced in Luclin.

Yeah I don't think the blacksmithed armor was Velious-era either. Checkout this page:

If you scroll down to the bottom you'll see that only baking/tailoring recipes were added in Velious (well, except for stuff like the Thurgadin gate potion, which was part of a quest so it's not included).

Hmmm maybe i am wrong but i do remember some the human blue diamond stuff entering late veliuos.

it was definitely before pop as i used to smith on live and remember comparing the various planar armor that where smithed (nightmare plate/chain etc) vs the blue diamond cultural when pop ws released.

Ok found the answer


from reading various google searches march 2002 seems to be the earliest implementation of Blue diamond cultural armors. This would place them in Luclin release so probably will not be implemented on p1999.
