Questions about Necros in Classic

I played a Necro on live EQ into the 50's a long time ago and it was probably my favorite class. I really enjoyed their versatility and some of the unique things they could do that no other class could really. So, I made a Necro on p99 not too long ago to experience the class again.

However... after looking at their spell list on the wiki, I'm confused. I think I made my necro on live after Luclin came out... but I'm not entirely sure. I'm pretty sure I wasn't in the 40's with that necro until long after luclin was released though.

This was over 10 years ago and my memory isn't that great to begin with... but I'm pretty sure Necro's had access to a rez spell in the 40's and I don't remember if it required an essence emerald. I definitely remember rezzing clerics after group wipes in the 40's though. I very vaguely remember the essence emeralds after thinking about it for a while but I think maybe they were easier to get on live after luclin?

Can anyone clear this up for me? Were Necro spells changed that much in later expansions? Were essence emeralds removed or made easier to get?

Is it really 200-300p a cast for Necro spells like Convergence and Infusion on P99? I'm assuming Velious won't be bringing any sort of changes to this.

That spell is on here at level 53. 93% rez @700 mana. :D

You HAVE to have a Essence Emerald to cast it. More like 350 to 425 plat to do that.

Yup. And it was definitely a level 50-60 era spell, since essence emeralds was sort of the neat necro thing they did for Kunark and then abandoned for the most part (with the exception of some spells that would create EEs from enemies in the 60-80 range)
