No plate for Iksars till Velious?

Went to roll my ikky as a war and was reading on wiki to see the "best" starting stat distribution and found they can't wear plate till Velious...that hurts. Good thing it's being released soon but now i gotta wait on rolling a war. Weird how they would do that considering warriors kind of need plate lol Damn

You are right about no Plate for a Iksar. But there is a LOT of good gear for them now for some reason lately in the EC Tunnel. :confused: And there will be even better stuff in Velious, but it will take a good bit of time for it to become affordable. :p

The Regen is well worth the penalty and not being liked lol. :D

So it is still worth starting one up now then as a tank class? I haven't been here long enough to really twink one especially with the prices on some of the highly sought after twink gear but if i can get by with like a banded set or something till velious drops then i may just pass my ranger banded set and str rings and earrings over to start him.

Was posting on another thread someone started about ikkies and now i kind of want to start one just to grind out the factions and be the ikky thats isnt hated lol war with regen and AC bonus as a not hated iksar? sounds like a challenge that will feel like a decent accomplishment. XD

Yeah, it is. I've been playing an Iksar SK and my brother plays an Iksar War. Neither of us have had any problem getting groups or tanking mobs. Granted we are only up to our mid 20s right now but still. Also there is class specific Iksar quested armors that are great until you can start getting stuff out of Karnors or Seb.

Start with a banded set. Quest trooper scale (warrior) or dreadscale (sk) as you level.

Iksar AC bonus + being able to wear the same gear as the other warriors once Velious drops. Velious makes it Ogre > Iksar >> others, instead of Ogre >> others > Iksar.

Ogres are bad warriors. Stun immunity doesn't matter when you're a non caster corner tanking. Zero CHA matters when Divine Intervention looks to save you from your 8xRound from Avatar of War.

Go Iksar. Being stunned may just let you miss a round of attacks that you would've just been riposted on.

Or better yet, go Half-Elf. Best CHA of all warrior races $$$.

Iksars have slightly more regen think like 18 per tick at 60 versus the trolls which are 14 or 16 per tick at 60. (somewhere around those numbers.) its a slight difference but ikkies have more. The hated everywhere part? adds a certain sudden death challenge to the game if you want to go those parts of the game XD

I was using the regen table that p1999 uses as i cannot find a better source at the moment.

Both Iksar and Trolls have higher HP regeneration rates (per tick):
Level 01-19: 4 sitting, 2 feigned, 2 standing
Level 20-49: 6 sitting, 2 feigned, 2 standing
Level 50: 8 sitting, 2 feigned, 2 standing
Level 51-55: 12 sitting, 8 feigned, 6 standing
Level 56-59: 16 sitting, 12 feigned, 10 standing
Level 60: 18 sitting, 14 feigned, 12 standing
Comparatively, these are the HP regeneration rates (per tick) for all other races:
Level 01-19: 2 sitting, 1 feigned, 1 standing
Level 20-49: 3 sitting, 1 feigned, 1 standing
Level 50: 4 sitting, 1 feigned, 1 standing
Level 51-55: 5 sitting, 3 feigned, 2 standing
Level 56-59: 6 sitting, 4 feigned, 3 standing
Level 60: 7 sitting, 5 feigned, 4 standing
A "tick" happens every 6 seconds (server side).
It does not matter whether you are sitting or standing between seconds 1 and 5, only the 6th second.

Both Troll And Iksar are the same re gen wise.

Just wanted to add (and someone please correct me if I am wrong) that while Velious has new plate armor sets that Iksar can wear, current Classic/Kunark plate armor does NOT get updated to allow Iksar use. Just something to keep in mind.

Yes but expect PoG/dwarven armor to become just as common as hate/fear armor, if not more-so. Especially dwarven, which I believe does not have a level requirement and a minimal faction requirement (unlike Skyshrine or Kael which require max faction).

If you can lvl up a bit and run to KC. Get a set of http://wiki.project1999.com/Jarsath_Scale_Armor that pretty much always is rotting. Better for shamans but still good armor till you can do or buy trooper.

Maybe on red but on blue you see tons of different race/class combinations.
