Good newbie pet wep?

Reading in forums on how OP slow, high dog weeps are. What is a good pet wep to use for a new player. One that can be farmed in first few levels, or bought for cheap, after selling some cb belts. Not worried about pet exp penalty, as I should be able to find somebody to group with.

If you can find a shiny brass halberd on a merchant near Highpass your pet will hit for like 32. Good if you got a good sesh and a max pet. If the wep is on a vendor they will sell it for 4pp.

Alternatively Firerune brand, axe of the Ironback and dwarve 2h axe are all good candidates for cheap 2h low level weps.
