I'm interested in venturing forth into the world of Velious with a squad i can trust. So in short, lets get this started.

I'm going to be setting up a Static group that would play weekdays, and maybe some weekends. Possibly people with the same schedule as myself. Looking for people who will be dedicated to an EXTENT (Family issues, work issues, Real life issues > Everquest issues) . Looking for reliable people.

I'm available : Monday through Thursday, After 3pm PACFIC STANDARD TIME [5pm CT, 6 PM EST](Im state-side), and Sunday, open availability.

I'm open for both Red and Blue.
Im open for Vent/Mumble/TS, yet i don't own a server, so its not mandatory.

Post here, i'll compile a list of people who are interested, and when i get home after work, we can set it up.

Group Needs : Healer, Tank, DPS, Crowd Control.

Blue is a lot easier in the sense that everyone around you will be twinked to the eyeballs... for a true "day 1" experience I'd consider red ;)

I played blue recently till 21 and then stopped. Problems:
1. Most people are quite twinked. They prefer you to be geared especially if a tank.
2. There's a bunch of plvl'ing going on, which is not only disheartening but it clears entire xp zones.
3. Many xp places I went were camped. I saw a twinked warrior holding down spots solo in uguk.
4. WTB prices are too expensive even though I had accumulated 1k pp.

Endgame problems I heard of:
1. Every spot with high-value loot is perma-camped, with a waiting list.
2. Several guilds rotate boss mobs. So you have to wait 3(5?) x 5(7+) days for a particular boss.
3. Boss mobs die within minutes of spawning to zerg raids.

So I rolled red this weekend.
1. Blue had 1,700 people; red under 170.
2. The xp comes so fast you have even bigger problems purchasing your spells. This should be solved once I hit the lfay sisters camp. I've heard its perma-solved once you level high enough to farm giants or seafuries.
3. Its not easy to get a port or a bind.
4. /ooc is server wide, and used for auctions. Someone has to port to trade, there is no EC tunnel. Funny enough this made my experience closer to that of the first months of EQ.
5. I may end up having to roll a druid to trade or port a cleric for a rez.

I've heard there isn't much ganking at low-med levels. I assume its done by bored high levels.

A static group is a great asset on red, as the /ooc suggests it takes a while to form a group. I wouldn't be surprised if a decent sized static group could hit 60 within 1.5 months. That would not be possible on blue without plvl'ing.

I prefer red.

I have to agree. The top Guilds on Blue will have the top zones locked up for months.:eek:

Good luck getting any good gear without being in them. :(

Read through the thread and yeah the people suggesting Blue are just flat wrong. Plenty of awesome dope people to trust on Red. Like me!

Got a 40 Iksar Shammy I can help buff us up with at first and I'll roll whatever you guys are missing (I need an alt) but id love to tank if you guys need one. Id like to roll SK or Pally so lemme know if your gonna go Good or Evil. Idc either way

Couple things about red; Your right there isn't much pvp at lower levels and virtually none in Kunark at those levels but heats up in 50-60. Exp bonus is insanely awesome as it fosters two things. A better community and one that groups without prejudice.

Plus low pop makes it super easy to farm whatever we want. I too am available 3PM and onward PST so hit up Rodarin on Red if you need another static memeber!

Long live the classic nostslgia. If you played on a Zek server back in the day you need to be on Red.

EDIT: I have a TS server we can use if needed when we start leveling further.

Id be interested in a red static group.

Id love to play monk or rogue, but will play whatever group needs.

Yeah, red is much better than blue. I switched after the poopsocking at all levels on blue. Either powerleveling clearing whole zones, waiting lists for hours for mobs, or max level raiding rotations, it is just a toxic scene at all levels. At least with red you can kill your competition and take the camp if necessary, which also reduces the potential poopsocking. Yes, red had their share of arseholes, but nothing like blue.

Fond memories, @Krule. I was the 2nd 50 on Rallos Zek. Then with Circle Noir when Tallon Zek started up.

Ahhh Rallos was the shit. Remember being able to loot an item off someone's corpses?

Those were the good days. This server is as close to the late 90's as it gets and that just makes me warm inside.

@Krule, I'd rather go good. Its easier (gfay) and I've done evil.

@nineonesix, perhaps its time we set a date and time to start?
